I've owned a 335i and now 2008 M3, bought used. I had the 135i for a couple days as a loaner. In terms of shearing driving enjoyment, and as long as you can afford a gas guzzler, you can't beat leasing the M3. Yes, you will lose money but the shear enjoyment you gain in driving bliss is priceless!

I wanted a 135i convertible but personally found it too small. If you are a big guy (over 6', over 200 pounds) the M3 is just so much more comfortable. 135 is very narrow imho.

Not sure why OP is dismissing a used M3 if that what he really wants. You can buy a used M3 for the price of a new 135i, get more car for your money, and have the luxury of already having the major depreciation hit taken (i.e. the used M3 will likely retain its value much better after 3 years of ownership than a new 135i).
To me buying a used car makes much more sense than either of the 2 scenarios the OP suggested. |
