380BBK on 18" wheels. Wont it be hot?
Hello all.
My common sense says that a 380mm BBK on 18" wheels will make the cooling significantly worse? Since it sits so close to the wheels and air cannot get to the brake vents as much? What are your thoughts? Look at how close that brake's vent is to the wheels. Wont this limit or block air into the vents? |

I've never heard of it being a problem. Remember that a ton of air is fed to the back side of the rotor anyway.

If the discs are installed correctly, the vents pull fresh air from the hub area and throw it out the edge. As long as there's enough clearance for the vented air to escape out the disc edge, it will work fine.
I have 380's on 18's and there's plenty of clearance. |

The air enters the rotor from the center and exits at the edge of the rotor. I have that setup and cooling is not affected.
