Wow, New England repping hard!

I'm a bit surprised to see #4 as I've dealt with them several times and found them to be terrible. That's the only dealer I've ever walked into that made me feel as if they truly did not want to sell me a car.

I know many customers of Bridgeport (#5) and they all seem very happy.

Some dealerships, never send you the survey, for example the Brooklyn one, most terrible place to have a service, and never ever you'll get a survey. Because its being "hooked up".

That is odd. I don't know what your experience has been there, but when I was shopping for my car I visited a few local dealerships, including BMW of Ridgefield. I finally narrowed it down to Ridgefield and North Haven. They beat North Haven's price (by a lot!), brand spanking new facilities and they made me feel like a king!

By the way, to my knowledge, Bridgeport and Ridgefield are owned by the same guy (which to me either signals that he knows exactly how to run his business, or these rankings are cooked). Either way, I got a great deal on a build-to-order new car, and they treated me like gold.

I would highly recommend them (Ridgefield).

Well, maybe not cooked.

2012 Rankings

4. BMW of Bridgeport - Bridgeport, CT

...

17. BMW of Ridgefield - Ridgefield, CT

2010 Rankings

21. BMW of Bridgeport - Bridgeport, CT

Looks like they've been working hard.

Does anyone have insight as to what data goes into compiling these rankings?

Congratulations to Joel and the team at IRA BMW of Stratham, they work very hard on customer satisfaction, and it does pay off. I was a consultant to the mega dealer group in the past and I know how hard you need to work to achieve the top spot.

I hope they've turned over their staff. It used to be a bunch of old guys who looked more suited for a GMC Truck dealership who would largely ignore you. They actually told me to come back with my parents on one occasion. I bought a Lotus the next month. When they're in a nice area, as Ridgefield is, they should be a little more aware that you don't have to be dressed in a suit to afford their cars.

FWIW, that was many years ago and I believe that they were purchased by the Bridgeport guy who likely turned the place around. I would give them another shot but they're no longer local to me. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

I wonder why the three Houston dealers dropped out since last year. The economy is going strong here.

Absolutely, that makes sense. No one would appreciate being treated like that either. I agree. In their defense, maybe you have the baby looks, like myself. I always get asked at work if I'm old enough to be doing what I do.

I also believe they have new staff now, since your last trip there. No old geezers that I noticed. Mostly mid age or young and very professional. The new owner also built a brand new building next to the old store, and converted the old store to a new-car delivery center. It sounds like they have changed a lot.

It is extremely difficult to achieve the Center of Excellence award. The measurements are based on sales vs goal in all parts of the dealership, service, parts, sales. It also takes into account the customer satisfaction in all areas as well. I don't think that a dealership could make it without having a solid operation.

Just curious, have you dealt with BMW of Darien? That's where I purchased my 1M. The sales experience was great and the serivce has been godd as well. Based on my experience, I'm surpised they're not on the list.
