Thanks for chiming in Sal! And even more so, thank you for catching my slight look-over. I made the mistake of not analyzing it on a tighter resolution, missing how there is a bit of a difference in Ignition logs between the posted stock and X-Pipe data.
I looked over the data and made the following graphs. When choosing the most appropriate runs to compare to by using Ignition and IAT as a control, it seems like these two runs might be more accurate. I enjoy being candid with you all, so if anyone has any input and good information to educate us all, it would greatly be appreciated! So I went back through all my DRFs and chose Stock_RunFile_004 based of the Ignition I hit and how it was closest to EvolveXPipe_RunFile_006. Check out the comparison and data to help support why I chose these two specific runs. Even in this case, Stock_RunFile_004 still hit higher ignition targets, although I'm not sure to how much degree this could be advantageous or not. SAE - WHP vs WTQ SAE - WHP vs AFR SAE - WHP vs IAT SAE - WHP vs IAT w/ Displayed Conditions SAE - WHP vs Ignition Circling back to what Sal@Evolve was saying. Here is a closer look comparing the Ignition logs between Stock_RunFile_005 and EvolveXPipe_RunFile_006. Please note how the Stock_RunFile_005 hits a bit higher ignition compared to EvolveXPipe_RunFile_006. SAE - WHP vs Ignition Here's a graph depicting Stock_RunFile_004, Stock_RunFile_005, and EvolveXPipe_006. Notice between the two Stock_RunFiles how Ignition may potentially affect power output, despite the minute difference in Ignition parameters. SAE - WHP vs Ignition And very lastly, he's a comical graph showing how easy it is to exaggerate gains by choosing the lowest measuring Stock_RunFile and highest measuring EvolveXPipe_RunFile. From my personal experience, the first few runs are usually low reading because fluids aren't up to temp, DME isn't hitting stabilized parameters, and the dyno rollers are still warming up. Pretty funny how it's so easy to "add" near 10whp delta in power by choosing misleading runs. SAE - WHP vs TQ Thanks for looking. I'm done 'nerding' for the night

Excellent gains!
In your original post (which has been edited), it mentions 200CPSI cats, but throughout this thread, everyone mentions (and you address) 100CPSI cats. Given the confusion, does the x-pipe have 100 or 200 CPSI cats? |

I apologize for the confusion. I have to go back and edit some of my posts, graphs, and video. Evolve Automotive corrected me in saying that the X-Pipe is 200cpsi.

Excellent detailed review Alex. Its great to see this much data on dyno tests like this and I hope it is eye opening for forum members to see the difference between lowest and highest runs.

A few people have been asking me when I'll be getting my Evolve Tune. I sent the data to Evolve Automotive the other day and got my tune in my email Inbox this morning!
I will attempt to flash my car later tonight when I get off work/class. I'm hoping to schedule dyno time for Monday or Wednesday pending when my dyno operator gets back into town. Stay tuned!!! Quote:
Thanks Imran! You guys have taught me a lot over the years, one of the biggest being, candid with the community. What makes this BMW car culture so fun is that there are a majority who are willing to be honest and candid with what they do with their car. Being the nerd I am, I love this data measurement stuff. Once the car is fully setup, I'm hoping to start doing acceleration times as well!
