Oil drain via filter housing
Hello,
Can you drain the oil via the filter housing using a pella pump? Also how much oil are you likely to loose just chaining the filter? |

Yep, I'd say you suck up about 0.1-0.2 liter from the filter can. Not sure how much the filter absorb, you're guess is as good as mine.
Edit: hence not possible to drain "the oil" as in the lot... |

Last time I did an oil change, I used a big tub that has quart measurements on it, the oil that drained out was just a couple hairs short of 9 quarts… until I also poured in the oil from the filter, at which point the total amounted to be exactly 9 quarts spot on.
Not sure if that helps you, but figured I'd mention it in case it did. |

Ah now I see what you mean, using a pela to suck all out. I do this on my boat engine but I wouldn't on the S65. Not sure there is a way for the hose down to the sump and why risk complications. Your sump plugs f@kked?
