I'm always down for a good steak. I'll be lucky to get to Indio before midnight though seeing as how I'm living San Diego during the start of rush hour at 5pm.

We hit Flemming's Happy Hour last year. Great deal but it's at the River in Palm Desert.
Haus of Pizza is a little closer. There's always the casino out there.

Yep. That's it. It saves about 20 minutes from the River.

I got moved up to the A group after the first session, guess they didn't want me scaring the B folks.

I did take the nannies off the last session of Saturday and the first and last session of Sunday. Went off in the sweeping off camber turn after running 5 clean laps when I pushed it a little too far on Saturday. Missed the save on the slow sweeper coming out of the back straight as I hit the berm trying to counter steer and went off going 15-20mph. Last session was clean as I took it slow and was able to catch the tail wiggling a few times.

Buddy and I went to the restaurant by the hotel and had the prime rib sliders on Friday night...great choice. That same restaurant catered the banquet dinner with chicken, beans, and beef ribs. Not too bad either.

I didn't know the GT3 had DSC. Is it in steps like the M3 or is it on or off?

Did they give instructors to the A group too?

Yep we had instructors in the A group too.

The event went really well. Had a blast. Thanks to all the CCA volunteers and instructors who worked long hours to put it on!

I didn't see you out there on day 2. Were you there? How did you enjoy your track time?

Yup, everyone got instructors. With Porsche, it's not called DSC. It's Traction Control and Stability Control. You can turn off Stability Control and leave the Traction Control on (sorta like MDM mode) but you can't do the reverse. With them both off, the back end will come out on you if you lift in a turn (happened to me twice).

It's been a while since I've given a point by, we'll see if I need to remember how it's done.
So how did the "battle" turn out? Did you end up refreshing your point by skills?

We basically ran the same fast lap times. I only gave up a few point-by to 2 instructors and when I was driving with the nannies off.

The corvette and race prepped P-car?

Damn wind spoiled Sunday a bit, but otherwise a great event. This track is growing on me the more I run there. I think I like the CCW config the best.

We had some weird mechanicals, including Ti-Jean's and one other tire issue. An E36 PS hose (not weird, expected almost) and some random other issues. Happens. Glad no one hurt their cars or themselves, though I'm not sure about any self inflicted Saturday night bar wounds.

What doesn't happen often is getting to take the cutie who was dishing out lunches for a ride in the instructor club race, err, run group. Neener, neener. I got to and you didn't! Rocked her world!

The instructors worked their butts off (myself excluded, of course). My guys(Red Tent) each had 3 students. I filled in for them a couple of times (once by request on Sunday). It was really hard on them, but I think they did a great job. I know I was sore and I never had an A student all weekend (though my C student in the Infinity was flat out working that car on Sunday - lookout B group in the next school).

Good to see some familiar faces this weekend.

Wow, that sounded scary....nice save. I would have probably spun. Fun times, hopefully you'll be able to make it out to the next few PCA events.

Yeah, the yellow race vette and Mike's spec 911. I slowed down by 8-10 seconds a lap when I turned the nannies off. After going off the second time, I was a bit gun shy about pushing too hard with them off and going off for a third time.
