Question Good price?

Thoughts on:

2011 e90 M3 - alpine white w/ fox red
Premium
DCT
19" wheels
moonroof
2,500 miles
$55k @ non BMW dealer

Seems like a good price, but just started my shopping, so I wanted to get some thoughts. Thanks!

Supercharging is worth exactly $0 from a standardized pricing perspective. Mods are not an asset, even a depreciating one, and it's foolish to expect to recoup any of their cost in sale. In the case of forced induction on non-FI factory cars, it could even be viewed as a negative since it can easily be viewed as increasing wear and tear.
Is there an easy way to search auction sales prices without being a manhiem member. like for a 2009 e92 with 40k on the clock?

Not trying to be a post nazi, but these will likely get buried in here since the goal is supposed to be reporting finished deals. Might want to start your own new thread.

Nope, they are subscription services. Check around some of the (other?) forums, there are usually some friendly dealer types who will check listings for you.

That is a great deal, see if you can get it down 1K or 2K make sure it's inspected at a BMW dealership, while they do it ask them for extended warranty (when you ask them about the extended warranty they will make sure to inspect everything). This will give you the upper hand to negotiate a good price with the NONE BMW dealer. It goes without saying ... check the past inspections break in oil change after 1200 Miles andy repairs doe etc. Before you sign on the bottom line

Good deal for an 09. I assume no accidents, etc. in the car's history?

Not bad. I picked up a 2009 E92 M3 with 45000 miles on it. It has every option available from BMW, including the rest of manufacture warranty and it is CPO until 100,000 miles or the Summer of 2014.

I paid $45,000 out the door WITH tax and license.

jimib looks like a lucky fluke

See my post here about my view that this off lease purchase for $36K is probably not a good guide to others.

2009 E92, 34k miles, premium, tech(idrive ) , cold, dct, premium sound, edc, Carbon roof, basically everything -$44500. From Manheim. For you guys looking for auction cars, there are a few dealers that are willing to help you out. Im not one of them, as im not a dealer, but my recent experience with one was fantastic...

Inside of the car was spotless, and the low miles for an 08 with a 6MT led me to it.

Unless they are marking it up because you can't order a new one that price is high. You could order a new one for a tad less than that a fewonths ago fully loaded.

How does BMW financing work if you try to pay the car out fully before the end of the financing term?

For example, if you finance a car for 60 months @ 3% and after 30 months, you want to pay it all off. Are you allowed to pay the remained of the balance without any penalty for paying it early? Do they add the complete 3% on the whole 60 months so you end up paying the balance of the car, plus the remainder of the 3% finance?

I haven't dealt with BMW financial but all the credit unions I have dealt with do not charge an early payment penalty. And no you don't pay interest on the balance you pay off. Interest is accrued over time and if you pay it off early then that interest hasn't happened yet.

Auto loans are amortizing loans, meaning, you pay off parts of the principal every payment, and your interest portion of your monthly payment decreases in relations to your principal payment as you pay the payments over time.

Here's a sample:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amortization_schedule

The answer is yes, you can pre-pay with no penalty, no you don't pay interest on your principal already paid back. Every time you partially prepay, the "balance" column decreases to your new remaining amount, but your monthly payments don't change, you'll just have a smaller prinicipal or "balance" remaining, and each payment's interest portion is smaller.
