Poll: What should I do?

I have the Rac's on order so those are going to be my primary rims. Right now I'm running stock 19's but back in april/may I picked up a set of stock 18's to use for track/winter...I really don't have a need for 3 sets of rims at the moment...so what should I do?

Keep 18's for track/winter & sell 19's

Keep 19's for track/winter & sell 18's

Keep the 18's, 19's & Racs

btw: I prefer the 19's over the 18's but since these are not going to be my primary wheels anymore I could live w/ the 18's for track/winter, but I do know that the most practical choice would be option 2 since 18in tires cost a little less & for winter 18's give you more protection against potholes ect.

Thanks guys/gals for your suggestions

I'm in the same boat and pretty sure I will dump the 19s. 18s best for winter and I still have a set of summer rubber that could handle a lot of track days.

yeah I think I'm leaning this way too I already have a set of Rcomponds mounted on the 18's & have a set of ps2's for them laying around also so I have options, & I'll save a lil bit of $ when buying in 18in vs. 19in that'll go to the track/toy fund

Don't sell your OEM 19's.

I did this once on my E46 M3, and I regretted it almost immediately.

You can't imagine how hard it will be to find another set of 'curb rash free' OEM 19's, when you'll want to acquire them again.

And trust me, you WILL eventually want another set.

Some unexpected event may come along and change everything...

So spare your self the aggravation, and hold onto your current insurance policy.

If you keep all three, it would be to put the stock 19s on when you sell it. I sold the OEMs on my E46 when I got RACs, and ended up buying a set when I sold the car, since you won't get the money for the RACs as part of a car sale, typically.

Does BBK fit under the 18"?? Just a question since you are tracking you never know when you find a good set

Keep the 19s if they came with your car. They'll be handy in the future.

AP and Brembo have BBK's that are suppose to fit under the stock 18's.

It's not as if you'll get a fortune for your OEM 19s (despite the fact that they are strong and relatively light forged wheels). And they always make the car look better when you eventually sell it. Keep all 3.

The more the merrier but in all seriousness, keep your OEMs in case you want to turn the car over later.

I'm in a similar situation... Do you guys think the OEM 18's will be better on the track than the RAC wheels?

Keep the 18s, sell the 19s and use the extra cash for savings or modding.

You will regret not having the extra grip from the 18s on the track if you sell 'em.

Main advantage is more track-oriented tire choices, including Rs, and less expensive tires.

Exactly, do it for the tire choices if anything. Or just purchase a set of 18" track wheels like Kosei.

That's even better, so you can get a square setup to rotate tires.

Don't use your RAC RG63 wheels for the track, if you have other alternatives...

It's not that they won't work, it's because their too big (19's), and too nice ($$$$) to rag out at the track IMO.

Get yourself a set of dedicated track wheels (18's), and you won't have to worry about damaging your set of rare and expensive forged wheels.

Makes sense. Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll stick with the stockers for now until I gain a little more experience to make a set of track wheels worthwile.

Hey buddy,

DEFINITELY SELL THE 19S.....those 18s will be perfect for the winter and track use.

Cheers,
