I originally wanted Red, but I love the E90 tails and wanted a color that really showed em off well with some contrast, so white it was. Also, for the price, the year, and the location it was perfect. But, no, it wasn't actually PLANNED.

Holy crap does it feel good!

I have to hand it to my girlfriend, Schatzi, for stepping up her game and getting the car of her dreams: a BMW 1M.

Her thread is here:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=556123

After we both graduated college, landed jobs, and got situated with our lives, we both knew that the one thing we shared in common the most (cars) was ready to be taken care of. At least the first stage..

Needless to say, I was jealous, inspired, motivated, and so extremely happy for her.

It was barely 3 weeks and while she was in Florida for a week I had managed to pick this beast up the morning of her arrival. Low and behold after waiting for the head of the dealership to sign off on the deal that the salesman had proposed: THE CAR WAS MINE!

I managed to finish the paperwork just in the nick of time to pick her up from the airport- WITHOUT HER KNOWING!

The look on her face: Priceless.

I can't thank the guys at Nick Alexander BMW enough for getting me the deal they did.

Here is the first photo, with many more to follow after a proper photoshoot. I just NEEDED to get a thread going, and formally introduce myself.

Here she is, and you can spot something else a few spots over .

So much more to talk about with this car, but this should be a plenty first post.

- 2009
- 26k Miles
- Alpine
- Black Novillo
- 6SPD
- Nav
- Comfort Access
- EDC
- Moonroof

Hi-Fi system is surprisingly great, and I am totally happy with it.

GOD DAMN THIS CAR IS FUN TO DRIVE!

Thanks! I've only driven her car once and around the block in a very respectful manner- I can't wait until it's broken in.

Work hard to play hard, is what it comes down to. Get the things you want for yourself and no one else!

Also- I met my girlfriend (schatzi) at a EuroClub Meet where I first went to College (Santa Barbara City College).

We met when I had a Dakar M Coupe, and we hit it off when I invited her to a track day, which would be her first! I knew I a winner when she said "when and where".

On another note, congrats on your m3 regardless
I was serious on the note that I worked my butt off for those 4 years of school, both city college & film, and still working hard at my job.

By no means do I correlate my city college years to the real world. However, at city college (among the countless nights of drinking) I was taking 21 units(7 classes), had 3 jobs (Tutoring 3 sessions a week; TA'd 3 classes; and Barbacked at 2 separate bars th-sun)... all while still hitting the boxing gym 4 days a week and playing water polo for the city college. For 6 terms straight.

I would call that grueling. If it isn't, then I stand corrected.

I thoroughly enjoyed my city college years, from what I can remember of it..

But hey, no point in trying to justify things here- just wanted to share an amazing point in my life with a great community of people doing the same!

Do it.

I think you mean 5 series.net/e60.net forum days, and yes I remember you...what's up buddy, as you can see, I went with an e90 m3 rather than an f10 or x6...

OP: my sincere congrats on your M3!

I'm not saying that 2 years in college and 2 years in film school were not grueling for you (it was grueling if you say it was grueling). I'm also not saying that there is some absolute threshold of sacrifice that one must achieve to feel legitimately proud to have earned an M3 (or anything else for that matter). That too is subjective.

In fact, I see no practical relationship between one's level of education/sacrifice and the decision to purchase an M3. To me that's not relevant.

So if that's not relevant to me, I find it curious why I think that 2 years in college and 2 years in film school does not warrant enough sacrifice to feel legitimately proud to purchase an M3. Who am I to judge what's deserved or not?

I see the flaw with my conclusion but I comment anyway. Maybe I can be enlightened as to why a connection was made between your schooling and the M3. Regardless, unless an M3 was acquired illegally, a hearty congratulations is always in order!

Its kind of if I came on here saying "after 4 grueling years of high-school, I totally deserve an m3!"

Not that I may not deserve it but you are posting about something that virtually everyone goes through and is thought to be rather routine.

Of course who knows each persons experience and not taking away from the grueling nature of the OP's experience-so that is why I clarified. But that was the reasoning behind it-it almost sounded like a joke when you also read his gf post also discussing how grueling community college was. Just seemed over the top! But as I said-congrats to the OP and welcome to the forum!
I read it as sarcasim too.

I'm not one to really care how people spend their money, but I do chuckle at bit that after 4 long years of post-high school education someone has earned a $60k+ car.
