Unable to delete music collection

Have searched everywhere and can't find an answer.

Purchased a used 2009 E90 M3.

Have tried everything I can think of to bring up a delete menu to delete previously installed songs and albums and nothing works.

Basically, I have hit the option button under every menu available and it never pulls up the menu options indicated in the manual to delete an album or individual song.

Thoughts?
