Whatever you do, just don't have her book it or you'll end up in South Africa, Iraq, or the Asias. Seriously though, if you like diving or snorkeling the Maldives are a deal. Bora Bora is about the best water on this planet. If you want the best water in this hemisphere, it's probably off Little Cayman, but I wouldn't recommend it for the dates you stated.

Just remember that September is SPRING in the southern hemi, so there may be some rain then. If you pick Hawaii and want a bit of seclusion, Kauai is probably best. Not QUITE as touristy as some of the other islands. There are lots of condos you can rent for a week where they will make your bed for you, but you won't be in a "hotel" so you can do what you like. I personally liked Poipu beach area.

First Honeymoon was all-inclusive at Jamacia! Sandales-Negril! It was AWESOME! Very romantic! We could have moved to the other side of the island for the second week but we loved it so much we stayed. Scuba, snorkling, sailing, all the food you can eat, etc. That was in '94 but I think it was like $4K for 2 weeks.
But best vacation since was Venice! You probably wouldn't want to stay more than 4 or 5 days there because it is small but it was very romantic. We also spent a few days in Paris. Great site seeing. All depends on if you want to plant yourself on the beach and do nothing or site see.

Maui has a lot to offer, fewer hurricanes than Caribbean, not too far. Lots of activities, or just sit on the beach. 2 weeks would be ideal. Wide variety of hotels; I stayed in the Wailea beach area (about 8 different hotels there, if I recall; pretty laid back/quiet area).

We've been to Tahiti, and it is great, but chose Hawaii (Turtle Bay) for our honeymoon. Much shorter flight (my wife couldn't get much time off), less expensive (nice if you guys are paying for part or all of the wedding), and personally, I actually like it better than Tahiti. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on that, but there is something nice about staying in America...

Maui is by far my favorite island over there...best combination of privacy and nightlife/fine dining/etc.

My wife and I went to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora, with a brief stop in Auckland, New Zealand, and Sydney, Australia.

It was an amazing trip. We used Islands In The Sun to book (http://www.islandsinthesun.com/)

There are two Sofitel hotels on Bora Bora. The Sofitel Motu is amazing. It is a private island which allows you all the privileges of the main island hotel (Sofitel Marara) yet all the privileges exclusive to only the Motu site.

Go somewhere exotic. All other places, that's just a regular vacation.

Me and the Mrs went to Sandals - St Lucia. Not the most exciting place to go, but it was absolutely the right choice.

We only had a small wedding (~125 people) but by the time we got done with all the stuff that goes with getting married, we were exhausted. Sandals ended up being great. They take care of everything - the hardest decision you have to make there is which cocktail to order from the bar... Perfect.

That's kinda what I want. I want a price and thats it, i don't want to haggle about my vacation or shop for prices. Our wedding is going to push 225-250 people, so I don't know how many choices I'm going to care to make once we get somewhere.

Although our time frame doesn't look good for a Bahama honeymoon since we'll be in the middle of hurricane season

Tahiti vacation planning intimidates me. I see prices that are all over the place, some say like 7k per person for 4nights/5days haha. I dunno, I know I'll end up using a travel agent haha

That site seems promising. Did you use the travel agent feature or book on your own?

We went to Sandals Grande in St. Lucia, it was beautiful, and mostly a younger crowd, wasn't an old tired sleepy place. No kids either which is a huge plus. I like all inclusive, sometimes the food isn't the best, but at least you know everything is paid for and you can just do what you want.

Sandals Halcyon Beach in St. Lucia would be a nice property for a honeymoon. Even though that part of the Caribbean is less at risk, the dates mentioned that scare me.

We went over to the Halcyon one night for dinner, it was definitely nice, but nowhere near as nice as the Grande. I didn't get a chance to make it to the other one on the island, can't remember the name. The date scared us as well, we went the first week of September last year, but no problems with the weather at all. Would definitely recommend Sandals, was a great experience.

The other thing to consider is something abbey-normal. I've been checking out dude ranches. You can get one with your own cabin on the property, and something like a week in the Fall in British Columbia, where you might have to snuggle a bit to stay warm at night, might be an excellent call. I googled dude ranch and found an association that has about 100 ranches that they have watched for at least two years. You can pick by state or several other criteria. I was checking out Moon Dnace in BC, I think they only allow 8 guests per week, and the cabins run about 1800 per, double occupancy. Includes your own horse for the week, 3 squares a day, and activities from lounging on the porch to all-day rides in the mountains.
