Venture shield is the best film - A good installer can use any of the films- however I would request Venture.

Venture has less orange peel than 3M, however, scuffs and small chips (in the film) can not be buffed out like 3M. One top shop that I use, starting using Venture Shield for the hood sections and used 3M everywhere else. 3M doesn't come in big enough sheets for the entire hood on some cars, Venture does. They stopped using Venture in favor of 3M recently. These guys have done F cars, Porsches and all sorts of exotics for years. I have heard that Venture is very clear, but it may need to be replaced sooner than expected if scuffs occur.

My dilemma is that I don't live in a major city where there are great installers. I could get my car done next weekend by dropping it off at the BMW dealer near my buddy's place which did their demo car and looked good from what I can tell, or wait until the next time I go up to Boston (end of August) and get it done by Protective Solutions which VentureShield gives 4 stars. I am opting for the waiting, but am nervous about the possible damage in the mean time.

I do not have any personal experiences with Venture. (I have only had 3M installed.) The installer I use very recently said that they are no longer using it. I believe it is because of the buffing issue. Other than that, I have heard excellent things about Venture Shield.

Man, that looks real good, I'm definitely gonna do the same when I get mine.
Iceman - That tint looks damn nice! Flows good with the roof!

some full wraps cost 2100. the materiel is not cheap. plus 6 hours of labor and travel time. you may get a full wrap for less , but you may also get a crappy job. beware if inexperienced installers.

I had mine installed last tuesday (a week after picked up) too. but I only did half hood. with my AW, I can hardly see the line unless I'm at the right angle to spot the line on the hood! overall, I'm happy with it!! (but will wait and see how does it hold up the debris and stones from the track next month)

The process looks identical to doing vinyl graphics or those car wraps. Looks like a profitable business to enter. All you need is the material and cars to show up at $2,000 a pop. |

My thing is, if it really cost $2,000. I would just repaint the front bumper and hood for easily $2,000 2-3 years down the road. |

the clear bra can be removed no damage. I detest repainted cars. especially if you have metallic its likely they will never match the paint perfectly. also you have to live with chips until its repainted.

You're totally missing the point of a clearbra. That's why its $1,800 - $2,000.
