Raced a WRX and GTI.

I raced both cars in my 323i.

The GTI guy was so cocky, he had his music blasting and his engine was reving at a redlight, I at that time had my windows rolled down so I heard his music and him talking shit about my car. Hes like "oh oh lets see what your beamer can do". I shifted in to tiptronic and we went on the green light.

I passed him already on first gear (the front of his car was at my side mirrors) , on second gear he was about near my blindspot and I heard his blow off valve kick in. I popped it into third and I was gone. He was about 2 car lengths behind me.

The guy in the WRX, was a buddy of mine. At first and second gear he had an advantage damn that car launches fast! I was behind where his backdoors were. Once I had it in third gear I passed him.

For some reason everytime I race with people my car leaves them behind on 3rd gear. Well thats all I had to share with you guys tonight.
I'm proud at what the little 200hp inline 6 can do! Gotta love em bmws!

Some of the guys's driving appearances r just fking cocky. driving a crap,with a cigarette hanging out of the window,a sunglass acting bossily on the road..etc. WTF. just simply get an M3 on the road and behave mannerly and that makes those guys look like barbarian. and that's it. TACIT

... It's not an STI. It's the WRX. Maybe you guys in United States have a different version than we have in Caanda. There is the Subaru WRX and then The is The Subaru WRX STI.
I raced my buddies 220 something hp WRX. Not 300HP.

it's definetely possible to beat a base WRX in a 323, altho the mag racers wont say so. they have quite possibly the worst shifter/gearbox ever designed. it is so damn clunky and horrible, i've seen many people (even modded with ECU/exhaust) get high 14 sec 1/4 times at the strip with the WRX, when magazines have gotten sub 14 with the car.

i believe you. although with equal drivers the WRX still shoulda won.

wrx wagons are slower than sedans.
wrx autos are slower than manuals.
op never once mentioned 'sti.'
gti 1.8t (stock) is a competitor to the 6th gen honda civic si.

it's hard to ascertain very much because there are some variables at play.

what's certain is that this post made me yawn.

i think the GTi turbo version can out run e90 325 easy, not sure how 323 do compare with 325...

i had a turbo GTI give me a run for my money in a procede 335. I assume he was modded pretty well.
