Now I have no idea, I'll try posting something similar on other forums as I'm in desperate need of a detail myself.

While I was at Coffee and Cars a couple weekends ago, I was approached by a guy starting a new car wash business in town that offers a number of levels of service. He described what they do and I liked what I heard. He also claimed to be a fellow enthusiast and Porsche owner, which was somewhat reassuring. I'm sure he could either give you a full detail himself or point you to the best place to get it done. I'll forward you the contact info when I get home. I can also talk to the guys down at DriverSource to see if they have a recommendation.

You guys should have jumped on Cosmo while he was still in town. He's up in Dallas now I believe.

Appreciate the recommendation, LMB.

I'll still probably try to schedule a detail with Cosmo when I'm up in Dallas (his prices are half those of any others I've ever seen and he does an incredible job), but if that doesn't work out, I'll check out The Finer Details.

For hand car washes here in town, the guy I talked to at C&C was Ryan Alcorn. His business is:

Soap Hand Car Wash
3759 Richmond Ave.
Houston, TX 77027
(713) 636-9646
soaphand.com

If I'm ever feeling lazy, I'll give them a try and let you guys know what I think.

Ahh, okay it's off 59 near the west loop.

I may pass by there to see this place for myself.

A co-worker of mine used these guys and his truck looked pretty good:

RSVP Mobile Carwash: 713-663-7787

rsvpparking@sbcglobal.net

They have really good prices imo:

$30 - Fiesta Pkg (Base hand wash, rims & tires shined/vacuum etc.)

$45 - Perfecta Pkg (Fiesta pkg plus dash/seats/door panels lexol'd, carpets/mats spot cleaned and deodorized)

$95 - Exelencia Pkg (Perfecta plus premium paste wax with orbital buffer, wheels polished/waxed trim protectant and tires dressed with 60% silicone rubber dressing).

Post up a review if you use these guys please!

I've heard this place is good but the person who told me that hasn't been there in some 10+ years. I drive past it just about every day and I've seen some exotics there semi-regularly so they still must do a good job.

Finally got an email back from him. I guess he had a change in plans, as he said he's relocating to Austin.

So, who did you use, and did they do a good job? I am getting rid of my black A4 in preparation for the arrival of my M3, and it needs some detailing and paint correction before I start hawking it.

A friend of mine recently opened a hand car wash on Richmond (between Chimney Rock and Fountain View). The head detailer there has over 12 years experience with detailing at Ferrari in New York along with detailing the cars of celebs in the New York area. This is the only place I take my M now

I had a detailing business in Sugar Land when I was a teenager that kept me with pocket cash. I still do my own detail myself and have the full arsenal of supplies. Unfortunately I have no desire to do full details for others now, even as a side gig. But if any of you guys ever need help with an "issue" like polishing out a shallow scratch or whatever, give me a shout and maybe I can assist. I live inside the loop along Washington.

I was with TLud when that guy Ryan from Soap Hand Car Wash approached us. I'm totally anal about my car and detailing in general and am therefore skeptical about any car wash no matter what claims they make, but he did sound like he cared about his customers' cars and would be a good option if you don't do your own wash and detail. The following week, there was an article about his car wash in the Houston Business Journal.

http://houston.bizjournals.com/houst...0000%5E2873831

From the many other posts here, it sounds like there are plenty of good detailers in Houston. I suppose that's great news for those of you that are looking!

I checked him out shortly after we met him. I was very happy with the service, the car came out very clean, and hes a very friendly guy. I did notice a small scratch I hadn't noticed until after they had dried it, but I do not want to assume that it happened there.

I've been detailing my car at Sunshine Auto Spa. Well, I did until the car was in an accident and has been sat at Momentum for the past 2 weeks waiting for parts

Had planned on getting a detail but was going to wait til after I had the lip put on. Then I had the front end bump and subsequent visit to the body shop. Have to wait a couple of weeks for the front paint to cure before I put a new bra on....sometime after that I'll be getting it done (crosses fingers.)
