I think we're asking about proper fit/vibration, not flushness...
Macht Schnell spacers have very specific designs to get around these vibration issues. For the 5 and 10mm spacers, they both have a chamfered design that allows the spacer to fit absolutely flush to the hub of the car. This way after cleaning the hub to ensure there is no material between the hub and the spacer, you can push the spacer all the way in, put the wheel on, and be good to go.

Other spacer companies don't always come with this little camfer so vibration issues could occur, but with Macht Schnell, if the customer installed the spacer correctly, we've had absolutely no issues that we can report.

Thanks for the response. I understand that the 5mm spacer will sit flush, but back to my original question- is there enough of the stock hub lip left to properly engaage the centerbore of th rim? The 5mm spacer does not have its own hub centric lip so you are relying on the stock hub lip, which will be shortened due to the spacer, to properly engage the rim. Again- either this remaining length is acceptable (hub centric, vibration free) or it is not. Obviously one can use a 5mm spacer in this situation and drive around ignorant to the fact that it is not ideal. I'm not asking about aftermarket rims, different situations etc, my original question specifically pertained to using a 5mm spacer with a ZCP/359 OEM rim.

I would go with a 12mm spacer in the rear and put and end to this discussion but I know I will probably rub with a 275/35/19 tire.

e1000 appers to have summed it up nicely but-

Sorry to be beating a dead horse but I still feel like I have not received a "definitive" answer.............

In regards to is there enough lip on the hub of the car once you put the spacer on, yes there is. Macht Schnell spacers are hubcentric, meaning that extra bit of hub sticking out on the spacer, 10mm and above. 5MM spacers don't need to be hub centric as you'll have about 6mm's of lip on the hub left over to put the wheel on.

If it becomes too difficult to put the wheel on, may I suggest a stud conversion kit to make things more easier, as this is what I have done for my 5mm spacer up front and 10mm spacer in the rear.

359 wheels

Do you guys think a 10mm spacer in the rear would make it rub with a dinan drop and 285/30 PS2? I have a 5mm to put on once the rims and tires come in, but was thinking about a 10mm.

Please report back if you do try the 10mm spacer. When I had the 285 tire on my zcp's, it APPEARED that there was a ton of room there (especially that the tire is shorter than stock). I never tried it however, and a few people did tell me it would rub.

I'm just finished driving at MSR Cresson today on a set of 285/30 18 hoosiers (5mm spacer front and 10mm back) and had no rubbing issues all day. I do have a track alignment but can't remember what we got the camber set to (I know we set it a the max without pulling the pins).

Can I use the stock wheel locks if I were to purchase 5MM spacers?

Thanks!

I don't recommend it simply because they aren't long enough. I do sell the RAD wheel locks that are longer if you're interested.

What if someone is running different sized spacers in the front and rear... What would you recommend in this instance? Is it possible to buy the locks in sets of twos (and have the lock match up for both sets)?

You'll need 2 sets of locks. As long as they are going on the same vehicle, we can have the same key provided for both.

I'm considering 5mm spacers for ZCP wheels as well. So much information! In terms of quality, which would you recommend between the MS spacers and the TMS spacers?

Both are quality spacers and you can't go wrong with either. The TMS spacers do have a divet for a screwdriver if you ever need to remove the spacer because it's stuck to your wheel hub.

I carry both if you're interested.

Got it worked out. Running a TMS 12.5mm spacer in the rear with a 275/35/19 Conti DWS and so far no rubbing and it looks great. I'm happy I was able to avoid the 5mm. The Turner Motorsport spacers are beautiful and match the color of the factory hubs so they aren't even noticeable. I decided to run a 12.5 up front also. Thanks again for all of the responses.
