website speed (or lack there of)

i've noticed that the website drags very slowly sometimes. it pales in comparison to other forums i'm on, let alone any other websites really. is this a server related problem? is there anything that can be done to speed up the website? thanks in advance

The entire bimmerpost.com site has been painfully slow recently for me as well.
