That tests the OEM remote wire. GTO is irrelevant if you connected the thin black wire directly to the LC2i and then the LC2i remote out to the aftermarket amp.

1) Connect aftermarket amp inputs to the LC2i MAIN outputs.

2) Set LC2i gains (all of them) to min

3) Play a 50Hz tone and adjust LC2i MAIN gain until is loud enough for you from the driver seat.

That should be it.

Remember, the harness is only wires connecting the OEM amp woofer outputs to the LC2i high level inputs.
Will do. I know that steps 1-5 are good. I have monitored that several times. I will play with the settings some more and see.

The Accubass feature of the LC2i is not applicable to our OEM systems. It is my understanding that it is only enabled on the Bass output of the LC2i. The bypass output (same output signal as the inputs but low level) is the Main output.

So your advice then is to adjust the Main knob only and leave the Bass and Accubass knobs at their lowest correct? Should the Main knob be adjusted prior to adjusting the gain on the amp? The RCAs should be using the Fixed Preamp Output and not the Bass Output correct?

Set the amp gain to minimum and use the LC2i Main output as your gain control.

So no more head way here. Even if I use the LC2i gain, I have to turn it almost all the way up to get any decent sound. Even then, I have to turn up the gain on the amp. Something definitely is still not right about all this. Everything sounded fine until recently. Light on the XD600/1 shows that it's working properly. Only a red light illuminates on teh LC2i until you jack the gain up pretty high and then the amber "maximized" light starts to come on. Any more thoughts on this? I have the bass on the iDrive set to the center which helps but makes me worry that I'm gonna kill the stock speakers. Should I adjust this up or down?

I really wanna get rid of the XD amp in frustration but cannot be sure that the LC2i is not the problem either.

My LC2i bass settings are at the lowest.
My accubass is off.
My lc2i gain is now at 9 o clock.
my amp gain is at MIN.

Out of the box with all settings in the middle, my subs almost blew. I had never heard them hit so hard in my life. It was WAY WAY WAY to much bass for me. I think somethings wrong if you need to crack them all THAT high.

I definitely agree that something is wrong.

Accubass is off
Amp gain is 1/3-1/2
LC2i gain is at 3/4

These settings are WAY off what I had them at before the bass "disappeared".

If someone knows a way to test either of the units to figure out which one is causing the issue, I am all ears.

My finger is on the trigger on a HD750/1 amp.

Have you tried the switching from the "sub" to "main" RCA outputs to see if any difference?

Gotcha. I just suggested to insure something isn't wrong with the RCA port(s).

on mine
using main outputs
accubass and bass on min
gain on LC2i is around 9 oclock (if the minimum is around 7 oclock)
gain on XD600/1 is same (9 oclock (if the minimum is around 7 oclock)
sounds great
did you try plugging in an ipod into the amp directly?
basically bypass the whole setup and just test the amp and sub?
)

Planning on testing the amp tomorrow, thanks. I kinda have a feeling that it's the problem but we shall see.

Use an iPod with the RCA low level outputs (31-pin connector) into the HD amp...

I'm confused. What 31-pin connector? Don't I just use a headset jack to RCA adapter to plug the RCAs into the amp for a direct connection to the iPod into the amp?

You could use the headset output of the iPod as well, I was thinking more of the iPod low level signal into your amp so there should not be any confusion of what is really wrong if you hear any clipping or distortion with the HD amp.

Their A/V cables, you can find them at Radio Shack.

If you have a headset jack to RCA right now just test it. Play a heavy bass song while changing the volume of the iPod. That should tell you what's going on...

i use these.
the headphone output is amplified, the audio out from the dock connector is line level.
so you are not using the built in amp in the ipod/iphone= better quality audio
but for just testing you can use the headphone out
you just want to know is the sub working correctly or not
if it sounds just as low, then the issue is with the sub or amp
if it sounds great then its probably the LC2i

So I checked with the iPod. Seems that I can go louder with the sub at the same setting. With the iPod turned all the way up and the amp at the 9 o'clock position, it does seem louder than before.
