I am going to get on my fanboy soapbox....

I hope all these very similar reviews have managed to turn some of the skeptics. It looks like 2001/1994 all over again with the M3 reigning supreme.

Those of you who want to bring up the GTR or 911 just take a look back in history. The R34 was king like the R35 is now (we just didnt get one in the states). And, your kidding me if the think the E36 M3 ever beat a 993/996 911.

Nope, the balance is maintained and the M3 is still on top!

Peace,

Jason

I just have one question.... dont get me wrong... I LOVE the new M3 specially the 4 door guise (may be ... just MAY be I will trade in my 335 for one), but does this mean that the C63 AMG is like the previous generation e46 M3 as in meaner, brutally fast and not so forgiving?? If so, which would be the REAL preference? the more mature M3 for the man inside of you or the C63 replacement for the kid that always wanted more power from the e46 and now has a chance to act goofy again?

If they believe they had driver error in the corkscrew why wouldn't the do the lap over for the M3. Either way it had the faster time. Motor Trend had a 4.4 second difference between the M3 and IS-F on a 2.7 mile road course.

This was done on a media day with a gazillion journalists driving different cars. They may not have had the opportunity for another lap.

"Steering that's a benchmark of feel"?

What happened to all the super-negative reviews of the steering?
Looks like CAR was right and people will blast the M3 early on to sell mags then applaud the hell out of it later.
Typical.

Sure, if the young kid enjoys being dusted on the track by the old man.

EDIT: As the old man laughs when the young kid only wants to race at stoplights.
