New Pics...Finally!

Well everyone, first off...happy new years. Secondly, last week I put the first pics of my E90 right off the delivery truck in Seattle. Picked her up this week and fell in love. Got it through the military purchase program "First Choice" so it was configured the way I wanted it 100%, and the drive home was a fantastic "maiden voyage". Just a few brief notes of what I've noticed...

1. Epic exhaust sound--sounds so mean and nasty. I can only imagine what your babies sound like with aftermarket.....maybe someday I'll throw one on, but not just yet.

2. Rough idle. Yeah, I know about the initial start and being cold and whatnot, but after she was nice and warm, it was still a bit rough. I love it. Makes me realize I'm not in my G6 anymore .

3. Enhanced premium sound--great decision. Some of you guys were for and against it, but I went with it and glad I did. Sounds great and hits hard.

4. What a steering wheel! So thick and comfortable (that's what she said).

Stuff that kinda annoyed me...

1. Turning off the car and the iDrive still stays on even after I open the door...gotta hit the start button again to turn it completely off. I"ll research that and hopefully get that fixed. When I turn a car off, I want EVERYTHING off.

2. Tools. All I had was a screwdriver and the tow thing, with empty slots for the wrenches and whatnot. Seriously BMW? Yeah, 4 years roadside and all that bs, but come on...just give me those things. They cost you...what...$5? Whatever..

Took a bit of time to get accostomed to the clutch, but now I love it. Love how short the throws are too compared to my G6. Speaking of, I had to drive the 6 today, and just the overall feel is nothing like the M. It's obvious why these cars cost what they do and why they have such a loyal following. Truly special cars that are well made. I'm hooked. And thanks to everyone on here for helping me out / posting great articles / keeping me entertained while I waited.

Basic pics for now...will wait to get better ones when I get my buddy's DSLR camera for the "artsy" ones haha.

oh just hold it down? I'll try that out. Thanks!

and yeah...big upgrade is an understatement. The G6 was a good car for me, but I'm at a time in my life where I just want to have fun and get it outta my system before I meet the future wife / have kids. I mean, I was kinda thinkin ahead with the whole sedan, but you know...lol

Could you do me a favor and take a pic of the interior in the back, especially with the door opened, showing the entrance. I'm curious how much leg room the sedan has in the back. There are no sedans in my area (closest is 220 miles away!).

Beautiful car man! Congratulations! Quite a step up from a Pontiac

Press and hold the Start / Stop button for about two seconds, and the car will completely shut down... it's easier than pressing the button twice (at least for me).

I agree with you on the lack of tools. My E46 came with a complete drop-down toolkit in the trunk, complete with a lug tool and jack. My E93 has a simple pouch with a screwdriver in it... BFD. But I must say, I've never been stranded anyplace and in need of those tools, so I don't really miss them. This E93 M3 has been the most reliable car I've ever owned -- more reliable than my E46 was (knock on wood).

Congrats!

Yeah it annoys me too that iDrive doesn't turn off when I turn off the engine and open the door. Good thing is when you lock your car, it will turn it off.

Hey! That's my twin, just a short drive down I-5! The best color combo, of course.

Congrats on the new ride.
