Cool, I wasn't sure if you had already bought them.

Hey guys, just wanted to clarify my stance on outside parts. The only reason that we don't normally install customer supplied parts is due to our warranty. We warranty anything we install, customize or otherwise touch and in order to do this we need to be sure the parts that we use are direct from the manufacturer with warranties in place. Here is an example:

Customer brings us a set of coil over that were purchased from a discount online retailer. I install these and customer hits the road. Part fails and customer has a blown Strut. Since we did not buy the original part and don't control the warranty, I have to charge the customer labor to remove the part, mail it to the manufacturer and then reinstall. Now the customer could go after the vendor that sold them the part to recoup this cost but that is typically a non winning situation.

I just prefer to keep all the responsibility on us and the manufacturer. This protects the client and insures that we keep our reputation as a quality shop.

Hope this helps, it's not that I don't want mrCBR600's business, it's just that I have learned from past situations what I feel is ultimately the best for my company and clientele.
