Single v. Relationship
After 2 years...I have a girlfriend again. Hard to give up the single lifestyle but it's a welcome change. Now Friday nights involve dinner parties with other couples instead of pounding 20oz drafts of light beer and trying to charm your way into a game of bonesmuggler.
Always have wondered what provides me with the most "happiness" so to say. The sedation period always goes away after 3 months though...so we'll see how this one turns out.

As of right now. I prefer the single lifestyle. I get to do what I want when I want with whoever I want. Good luck to you in your new relationship.

If you have the right woman, it's an easy decision!
But you are right though - your period of elation will only last so long during the first few months and then it feels dull (sometimes like a chore) afterwards. If you can still hack it afterwards, I suppose it won't be so bad 20 years down the line with the same woman.

the grass is always greener on the other side, i guess. i remember after we broke up with my ex, i couldn't get a new girlfriend fast enough (i'm not one-night-stand kind of guy). once back in a relationship, i missed those few months that i was single...
i agree with squawks though that only the beginning of a relationship is really interesting and joyous since with time, you start taking the other person more and more for granted.

I have always been the relationship kind of girl. I was back to back. But now ive been single for 7 months. Its the longest ive ever been on my own.
Sure there are days where i wish i had someone.. I miss dressing up nice, going out to dinners, movies, just cuddling..etc. But there are those other days, where im glad i dont have to deal with the bullshit of relationships. My best friend is going through some drama in her relationship and she calls me for advice/venting. I sit back and think, man im glad i dont have to deal with that anymore. I dont have to call to check in, or put their feelings first. I can do what i want, when i want. This past week ive spent it w/ this 1 guy. Hes the "football player" (well thats my nickname for him, cause well he is.. aha). Anyway, ive known him for a long time but never actually hooked up w/ him. Finally, it happened..and now hes leaving to go back to school. It sucks cause i finally started to really like a guy after my x bf. But hey.. shit happens, and im leaving too. So we'll see what the future holds. Anyway back to your question.. I can easily say im having more fun being single, but i'd be lying. I think it all comes down to what you cant have you want, and when you have it, its not as exciting. When i was taken, i thought about being single. But when im single, i wanna be back in a relationship. ugh!! LoL

I thoroughly screwed up my relationship, and I'm trying to salvage whatever is left of it. I'm on the verge of losing a keeper, and I'm an idiot for allowing it to get this bad. Single is not what I want to be.

But i dont take advantage of that. I rather hold off until someone really sparks my interest. Im not the type to go to bars, or whatever and hook up w/ someone. Those girls are all nasty. But everything is a lesson and a learning experience. I made a mistake by being with my X, BUT i dont regret it. Because now i know what to look for in the next person i become serious with. And maybe thats why ive been single and not jumping into another relationship.

Hey, Bella - it's all good - you'll find a "college sweetheart" when you go back to school at Hofstra!
Whoa, whoa, boys! Not so fast with those Hofstra applications!
