are you sure the $1000/mo number already includes the lease payment? it doesn't make too much sense to me--and being an engineer i have a decent "gut feeling" on numbers.
Cap cost reduction! The $760.00 approximation was based on me putting a few grand down on a nearly base sedan that has been reduced in price. With no money down and no trade-in, my payment is $818.00 after taxes on that particular M3. With a few grand down, my payment will be reduced by about $60. Below $800 monthly is ideally what I wanted to pay, so this will be the perfect deal (..already approved by BMWFS). The only thing I am awaiting is my mother's decision to take my car.

See post #20 for the specific monthly payment amounts with my trade-in (...which has $6700 worth of payments remaining).

i see SC. i thought $760 was with $1k down as per post #1
i am paying $1000 a month at 4.25% APR, but with close to $20k down including taxes at 8.375%. gotta pay to play.

Another update.....

1k down, $931.00 per month........2800 down, $899.00 per month.......2500 down, $905.00 per month.......3k down, $896.00 per month.
You are saving $40 if you do the 3K down and $896 a month in comparison with the 2500 down and 905 a month. I would do 896 a month, with 3 k down. Have you asked about the lease rates? I am assuming that BMW dropped the rates only on the E90.
I am thinking about that deal now

Lease rates aren't great at all. My buddy explained to me that BMW is losing too much money on leases, and is trying to deter people from considering a lease over a purchase (..hence, the hiked up rates). He was also explaining that BMW began offering a new type of financing three months ago. The new financing structure has a balloon payment due at the end of the finance term.

Update:

My deal is still pending. The possibility of unloading my current car is dismal, and I don't want to deal with the negative equity. I have a friend who is attempting to obtain approval for a lease assumption. I'll keep you guys posted.

If you don't mind, what is the final price of your car? I'm interesting in getting one too, and cannot believe you're only going to pay ~$900 a month with only a $1,000ish down payment! I was thinking I'd have to plunk down atleast $20,000 to get that type of rate!

Believe it bro!!!! And now that BMWFS released new rates of 0.9%/1.9% for sedans, coupes AND verts, there is no better time to purchase an ///M3. I do want the new IDrive, but I don't think that the '09's will ever experience this type of rate.

I'm so glad that I waited because I now have the option to get great financing on a coupe.

My CA is checking into base coupes as we speak.

Sorry, but what does .9%/1.9% mean? Which does each number represent? And this only applies to 2008s right?

I'm not even sure iDrive is worth it. I mean, is it worth 4%+??? Looks the same on the outside!

....I'm probably going to cave due to the new 0.9/1.9% rates. My CA has gone above and beyond for me (...and he always has throughout our entire 7 year friendship), and I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to get into an M3. I've tried to sell my car and have exhausted my lease assumption options. I've had a couple of really serious buyers, but both buyers wanted to buy the car outright for less than the payoff, so I would have to pay the difference (..which equated to paying more than my remaining payments).

My current situation is a tricky one. I have narrowed my options down to an IB sedan and an IB coupe.
  • 2008 Interlagos Blue Sedan:
  • Silver/Grey Leather
  • Carbon Leather Trim
  • Tech Package
  • Moonroof Delete (..Yayy! )
  • 6MT

    2008 Interlagos Blue Coupe:
  • Speed Cloth
  • Carbon Leather Trim
  • Navigation
  • 6MT

The drawback for me comes down to compromise. Do I take the sedan with the silver leather (..when I'd actually prefer Speed Cloth or Black Leather), but with a lower overall cost? Or do I take the coupe that is optioned exactly how I want, but with a monthly payment that is $80 more than the sedan? This is where I'm conflicted, and I basically have until tomorrow to make my decision.

So yeah, I'm stressing!

On another note, my buddy is also going to trade his car for an M3 coupe, and he's stressing too. Damn ///M cars!
