Comments on Toyo Proxes 4 for 08 M3 19" wheel

I was wondering if anyone has any comments (good or bad) regarding Toyo Proxes 4 tires? I have a 2008 M3 convertible with the 19" staggered fitments (245/35-19 and 265/35-19) and am looking to change tires (economically without sacrificing too much performance) and came upon the Toyo tires. I know its an All-Season tire, but they say its an ultra-high performance all-season (don't know if that's possible) tire that will give me double the treadlife from the stock Michelin PS2's (20k miles vs 10k miles). Any other alternatives???

I would stay away from these tires. They were made for the sport compact market and based on feedback on here, they don't come close to the PS2's.
Check out the Vredstein Ultra Sessanta (sp). They have received some great feedback on here for being a strong value to performance tire.

They tend to be very noisy at low speed. It's REALLY annoying.
Vreds or V12's.

V12 Evo is a great budget tire that rides well with decent grip. Not as sharp or grippy as OEM PS2 though.

Also have heard great things about Continental DW.

Thanks!

I pulled the trigger on Conti Extreme DW's. I am getting them installed tomorrow. I read that they were a very good alternative, decent price (<$1,000 for the 4 tires), and UTQG of 340, which is far better than the Toyos, PS2's and Vreds. Let's see how they do....

After about 20k miles on my Vreds I've noticed that they get loud at low speeds too. I now have 25k miles on my Vreds and it looks like I still have at least 5k more miles on them.

I agree, then get a little loud with time, but last WAY longer than the PS2's.

I have been a fan of Toyo T1Rs for a long time, however the price relative to the market has continued to climb to the point that they no longer make sense versus some of the competion. As a result I now run Hankook V12s.

The Hankooks take soom time to break in (500 miles of normal driving), but once they do, they perform well. I give them an 8.5 out of 10, with Michelin PSS/PS2 a 10.

loved my proxes 4. I think Contis suck the big one, and now running Nitto Nt 555.. A good compromise of value versus perfomance.

I like the T1R's in the past, but the Proxes4 HOWL like crazy at low speeds. Really annoying.
