The nature of the floral business is one which is extremely time sensitive and dependent upon major holiday periods. These holiday periods include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, Secretary's/Team Appreciation Week, Easter and Mother's Day. While we are pleased to offer our customers same day delivery on orders placed as late as 2:00 PM in the recipient's time zone on a regular non-holiday day, the high volume of orders we handle during holiday weeks prevents us from guaranteeing same day delivery. During these holidays, we will ask you for flexible delivery dates (usually 2-3 days before the holiday) to ensure your orders are delivered on time for these important days. Please keep this in mind when placing your holiday orders.

During these peak holiday periods, the volume of floral and gift orders being delivered by our fulfilling florists often causes us to "cut-off", thereby ceasing to accept any additional orders for guaranteed holiday delivery. Traditionally, we have had the latest "cut-offs" in the industry--and continue to do so on a holiday by holiday basis to ensure your 100% satisfaction. During holiday periods, please make sure to read the Important Delivery Information posted throughout the shopping section of this web site.

Reminds me of my experience with 1-800-Flowers on Valentines day many years ago. I was flying into NYC and had arranged to have the flowers delivered to my wife (girlfriend at the time) before I got there.

In her building, it seemed that everyone else was having flowers delivered EXCEPT for her. I made many calls and got the usual, the driver may be running a little late, but they are on their way.

Eventually, they came in the late evening...THE NEXT DAY!!! It was a dozen roses and half of them were missing petals, and the petals that weren't missing were either wilted or already turning black. From that day forward, I refuse to use that company. Even though they refunded my money, it really ruined the whole experience. At least the rest of the day went well

I've got a Dude named Kelvin @ color Your Life that is a Genius when it comes to flowers that my wife will absolutely love... He never fails...

You do need to plan ahead a little more though, just ordering some random flowers the day before Valentines day is sorta asking for trouble. It demonstrates a certain lack of thoughtfulness and the flowers almost become a Cliche'.

Best to get flowers for your significant other when there is no reason to do so, on a Monday, and have them delivered to her office, that way she gets to enjoy them all week and you score all sorts of points for being so sweet...

Find a local Florist, it's the best way to get things done right, if you plan ahead a little.

1800flowers.com....

Lets see... missed (non holiday) delivery date, THEN sent me an email claiming they didn't have what I wanted in stock, THEN said they zip code was wrong (it wasn't, they somehow screwed that up), THEN said there wasn't a florist in that area and I would have to order something that can be FedEx'd...

No more Flowers.com for me.

I was gonna use 1-800-flower but read some reviews on how much they sucked. So I used Proflower and everything worked out great.

1800 flowers just takes orders and has deals with local florists who make the arrangements and deliver. They are pretty much at the mercy of who ever the florist is in the area you wanted it delivered at. I've used them before and was not too pleased. Pro Flowers ships everything form their warehouse in a box. The presentation isn't as good as something delivered by a florist, but they are a lot more dependable. I used Vermont Teddy bear for the first time this year and was 110% pleased .

One more thing, is that since Vday is so damn busy. A lot of floral shops have people working that never work again all year. Most likely not the smartest people out there either.
