Rolex Pricing??

I am in the market for a new Rolex Submariner Date. My local dealer is quoting (list price) $8,000 for the black face with stainless steel bracelet. What would be a fair price from a certified dealer? Do you have any good online resources for comparison?

I got mine when the licensed retailer was having a small sale which almost never happens on Rolex's. Check out Mayors Jewlers (mayors.com) where I got mine (exactly the one you are looking for) for a price comparison. I'd call them. You should be able to get it a little under 8.

It's crazy how much the price has gone up.. New metal formulation and the ceramic outer ring and the price was bumped north of $1200.

$8K for a Sub? That's approaching Daytona range.

on rolex forums people that bought from authenticwatches seem to have great feedback and also their extended warranties are a great offer for what it is.

The cheapest in the US area atm:
http://www.chrono24.nl/rolex/rolex-s...arch/index.htm

I bought mine august 2010, one of the first 116610 LN's, for 5000 euros(but there has been a second price increase in EU since then) (original AD: Fisher's Jewellers Port Elizabeth, South Africa)

Edit: Íf I'm not mistaken the retailprice in NL/D is 6,250,- euros...

It's crazy I bought my first Sub in 2000 stainless non date $2800. I think that was retail, I bought it in Abaco Bahama,I decided I wanted a two tone date the next year, My second, the one I still have I bought in NY from a dealer through a friend who worked in the diamond district for $4900.00 I think retail was about 7200. at the time.
I cannot believe the price of the Daytona's they have really gone up in price

I bought my first Sub Date 16610 in 2001(SEL and pinholes) for about 2300 euros(5000 Dutch guilders at that time) , wearing it 24/7 I sold it two years ago for 2900 euros....(though the pricerange for such a 'used' Sub is now from 3200-3400 and rising)

The same with my GMTII 16710 which I bought new back in 2000.

You have to be careful with these online dealers. They sell watches below the MSRP. Therefore, the manufacturer will NOT honor its warranty as you did not buy it from an "Authorized" Dealer. The warranty is through the website itself. Do you trust an online website with backing you for years of warranty? They can close down the day after you bought the watch. Then what? If you're going to spend the money, but it from a store.

I agree, but those online dealers buy from Authorized (Rolex in this case) Dealers( the stamp/number on the warranty card/papers) so if there is an issue , the Rolex is originally sold by the AD on the warranty card, thus giving worldwide 2 years warranty from new. But I get your point. I buy from ADs.

Whats the difference in what I wear 16613 that I bought new in 2001 and the new one? Also mine has the gold going throughout the clasp I have seen some others where the clasp is just stainless.

Here in Asia there were about 3 price increases at least this year. I got mine in HK. Hong-Kong and Taiwan are quite good with prices. No freakin sales tax here in HK but in Taiwan if you pay cash you can get around the 5% tax.

I'm a jeweler, have my own businesses, and use to be a Rolex authorized dealer. Send me a PM if you have any questions and want factual answers.
