eclipsisNA Detailed: 2010 Jet Black Mercedes E63 AMG

This car was shipped to Beverly Hills from Connecticut after seeing two winter's worth of road salts and sand damage the car. Machine washes only compounded the damage I needed to correct. Post up any questions you might have.

After wash:

Severe swirling on driver side fender:

Severe swirling on hood:

Driver side door before and after paint correction w/ Chemical Guys V-series:

Close-up of driver side door:

Passenger side door before and after paint correction w/ Chemical Guys V-series:

Finished; Chemical Guys Pete's 53 wax applied:

I got a detail almost a year ago now with Pete's 53 wax and it still looks glossy as hell when clean. Nice work

Love your work, simple questions...

Did you correct then wax, but not polish? Is that common?

correction involves polishing. to get rid of all the defects in the paint you have to polish then put on your protection i.e. sealant/wax

Hmmm, I must be confused, I thought the correcting process was different than polishing purely based on chemicals, for best results, you would polish with a different chemical /compound than you would correct with...

Correction is an all-encompassing term for several processes: it could mean compounding, polishing, jeweling, or even wet sanding. It basically means to fix defects in paint.
