This exhaust is really boomy, and there is drone from 1500+ ~ 3800. Even if you let off the gas there is drone and boomyness. there is so much low level drone i can feel it in the gas pedal each time i gas or let off.
That doesn't sound too good. I guess they didn't address the drone issue at highway speeds.

1st the distance between the two pipes where you mount the adjustable tips are not the same from left to right, not really noticeable unless you measure as i did.

Also the exhaust is loud. very loud. how loud? i can't use my bluetooth anymore loud. videos don't do justice as it has a hard time picking up low freq noise.

The exhaust does drone ( as does the stock and every other exhaust) @ certain rpms. From my 25 mile test drive of city / hwy it seems to be from 2500~3500. So options are live w/ it or shift or coast in N. it actually quiets down a lot after 4500+ and then the engine takes over .

I probably won't be getting an x-pipe as i can't imagine it louder than what it is now.

On WOT the car sounds awesome and at idle it has a nice hum from the outside. imo, sounds better from outside than in the cabin.

As for the install they forgot to send me bolts which ties the left and right exhaust together but it usps messed up and i didn't get it today.

During install I noticed the bolt on the adjustable tips are steel and not SS so they might rust over time. I made a quick trip to lowes to pick up a SS 5/16 washer, bolts and nuts to finish up the install.

FYI this is picture is missing the cross bar that connects both exhaust.

I 'll post pics tomorrow as its 8:30 now and raining.

did i tell you i love the RE SSK!
LOL about it being so loud u can't u use BT anymore! Is this as loud or louder than an Eisenmann Race (if you've heard Eisen. Race in person)? Thx for all the info & pics!

riss said in their test they showed no drone which i find very hard to belive. and that it would reduce noise by 20% after 200 miles. i've already put 250miles since tuesday w/ no reduction in noise.

Sorry to hear you're unhappy with the purchase. Alot of us had decent expectations of this exhaust, primarily because of the positive comments from the 1 series crowd.

Can you let me know what hardware you needed to purchase for the crossbar? I just received my Riss Racing System as well today, and it looks gorgeous, and packed well, just like yours... but also came with no hardware.

I'd like to know what is needed... and I'll do the install tomorrow.

Thanks,
Dave

PS... Novablack... what did you think of the 'exhaust' piping... inside the exhaust where it meets up to the Factory Mid Pipe? I don't like the 'gap' in piping... seems it will cause a floor disruption... based on the pipe being welded on top of the smaller diameter piping?

I took pics this evening... I'll post what I'm talking about tomorrow morning. I think I may just have to go a different route... I want this system to work... but it honestly is obvious it is not as high quality as something like an RPI, or an AA etc...

The finish is gorgeous, and the mufflers are VERY COOL... but I don't know... I'll have to see how it fits, and sounds... and what type of RWHP I pick up to be absolutely positive!

Thanks,
Dave

Guys, I just put on the Riss Racing X-pipe with HFC on today combined with the stock mufflers. Power increase is very noticeable, very noticeable torque gains in the low to mid-range. There is a rasp, at least with the stock mufflers. I'm happy to say there is literally NO drone from about 2200rpm and up. Cruising at 70-75mph w/ cruise control on sounds literally the same as stock which is quite amazing. I'll be posting a full review with pictures and video in the next few days. Got to wait for the x-pipe and cats to break in completely.

Nova... can you let me know about the Hardware I need for the Cross brace?

Guys... tell me if I'm being too nitpicky here... but this is the inlet of the pipe... that you can see the interior pipe not completely 'flush' with the outer exhaust wall, see attached pics below:

I don't see a problem with the construction; my only gripe would be the drone.

This is fine as long as it is fully welded on the outside. It looks very poorly done, but it will work. Overall, it sounds like they threw a system together really quick, but they took forever to do it! It is weird how that happens.

sorry i been away, you'll need a 2x 5/16th washer, 2x 5/16th 1 inch nut and bolts, pick up the stainless steel ones from lowes/home depot.

Thanks Nova... what about for the cross bar? I think that was what you used for the tip adjustments?

Thanks,
Dave

Perfect! thanks... I see now.

Also, is it just the angle of the pic... or is that inside Exhaust Tip hanging down lower than the outside tip?

Yeah, looks better... I think I will spray paint that cross bar black... so that it doesn't show up so easily.

Thanks again,

Hi Guys,

I spoke with Anthony over at Riss about this and the piping is the right size to connect to the OEM exhaust. The ball joint is swedged to a bigger size to clamp over.

Glad I passed. This just seems like a nightmare.

Maybe in all of your interests to just buy a mid-pipe.
