As far as I know, LED tail lights will be the only difference.
335i coupes are supposed to get a minor front face lift but those changes should not be carried over to the M3. |

I am so anxiously waiting for the 2010 E90 M3 to come out. I can't wait to find out the improvements on the new model. I hope a competition version comes out...From what I've heard. I hope my patience pays off.

I am in the process of ordering an 09 M3. It will be 8weeks before I get it. Would you guys wait and order the 2010 or just order the 09? Is there going to be a difference body at all except for the lights or even performance at all. Im going with the m double.

^From what I've heard, the 2010 won't have much changes...But it may likely have a few that may interest potential buyers like myself.
And Btw, congrats on the lost weight....And remember to keep it up, and don't ever give up. I myself need to get in shape also. |

I'm going to trade my 335i for an m3 this summer but now I don't know if I should wait for a 2010 model. Do you think they'll still give good deals on the 2010 models or should I take a discount and just get the 09?

Probably the notchiness and the rubbery feeling and stuff like that....But I've heard that a ssk pkg can solve majority of that problem. The notchiness itself is part of the natural tranny and I've heard it eases up after the M3 breaks in for a few thousand miles. I'm sure it's a very strong tranny, especially since the M3 is and has been proven to be the best sports sedan in the world time and time again by a countless number of professional reviewers and car fanatics all over.

Well, as I said, Im in the same boat as far as whether to buy and 09 or 2010 model. Any ideas on what the price increase will be as it seems there is always one. Also, what are you guys seeing for discounts on your 09 M3s. Here is my build and dealer price right now. I feel like it should be lower since 2010 can be ordered soon?? Also I would have to place order so its not on the lot.
My M3 Coupe 4.0-liter, V-8 engine Rear-wheel drive See all standard features Base MSRP $57,850 Jet Black $0 Black Novillo Leather $950 Titanium Shadow Trim $0 19" Forged and polished Double Spoke wheels (Style 220M) with mixed tires $1,200 M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic $2,900 Heated front seats $500 Navigation system $2,100 HD radio $0 Destination & Handling: $825 Total MSRP as Built $66,325 (+Gas Guzzler Tax $1300) Dealer Price: $63,500.00 |

^You're right, it should be lower...But the dealership will only do so much to keep a reasonable profit without giving too much of a discount. Once the 2010 model comes out, I'm sure BMW itself will unleash extra cash for the dealers so that in turn it will prove to be a bigger discount off of the car. If you read on what's happening with the 2008 M3, dealers have an extra $7,500 "trunk money" on top of the discount that they can normally give...Which easily comes to saving $10-15K off of the 2008 M3. I would wait since that is what I'm doing also. If the deals aren't still good enough for me, I'll just order a 2010 M3 with some discount if possible, and I'll be happy with a brand new model year at the same time.

Wait .. if you can!
I would wait .. if possible not for deals on '09s but probably for additions to the interior and exterior color palettes. I also do think that any updates to the coupe's headlights and tail lights (like the tail lights in the E90 LCI) will also be moved over to the //M E92/93 and the headlights to the entire line as the fronts share the same setup. The body paneling however will likely stay the same. Furthermore, M-DCT updates (if any) will likely make it to full production. CSL .. no clue there .. highly unlikely if you as me especially in these market conditions.
I wouldn't however, expect deals anywhere CLOSE to those on the MY2008 going forward on ANY model no matter how long you wait. The MY2008 suffered from a type of "perfect storm" where in fuel prices (mid 2008), the economy (demand capitulation) in late 2008 and over-production (improper forecasting) created a massive supply glut. There were dealers with 8 //M3s sitting on lots which they couldn't move (they finally managed to get them moving through great leasing deals and rebates that were available early this year). The MY2009 supply has been DRASTICALLY modified and dealers themselves are stocking way less //Ms (most in fact none at all). So waiting on deals is good but just modify your expectations a bit. |

Well said. I think from what I learned from others, you pretty much summed up. The 2008models did have back end money that the dealers were given to get aggressive, along with low rates. So a lot of the big deals came from the over supply. I do also agree that the supply on 09s is pretty low. Dealerships in CT have like one to none of the 09 M3s on the lots. Very scarce at least in CT. So I think their may be discounts on the 09s once the 2010 models are orderable., but not nearly as much. Waiting for the 2010 models isnt that great either, b/c you know the prices are only going up. Wouldnt you agree? Im trying to get the dealerships to do invoice or $200 over invoice to make the move. We should do a bulk buy....that might help.

^^I don't know man. I'm gonna' order the 2010 MY from whichever local dealer that gives me the best price. I'm not expecting a HUGE bargain price, but I expect at least some off. I'll get my 2010 E90 M3 and I'll be happy with it for 5+ yrs. and I'll call it a day!

I have been in the BMW car club since 1985 and have owned a number of BMW's including a grey market M535- a 528- 325ci / Euro delivery etc. all with manual gearboxes - the 2008 M3 I drove made a crunch in acouple of downshifts from 2nd to 1st - the shifts were made carefully and the revs were under 4K - I have read complaints about the MT in the Tech corespondance section of the BMW club magazine - Bimmer Magazine- etc.
I believe that the M3 is one of the finest sports cars available today and I want to order one the gearbox though does concern me - I know that the dual clutch is fantastic but I just prefer a manual shift. Some club members believe that changing the gear box oil to Red Line syn. is the answer |

If you are waiting for BMW to 'improve' the 6MT as you put it, before you order one, you will be waiting a loooooooong time! I have said it before and I will say it again, this is the BEST 6mt in any ///M car EVER!

On another thought .. why don't you do an ED (european delivery) instead? You should easily be able to land up $1000 over wholesale invoice regardless of model year. As for me as much as I love the E90 //M3, after some serious thinking it's probably going to be a different V8 for me next year (hopefully) .. 550i M-sport. |
