To trade or not to trade
I have a 07 golf gti right now...it's been stuck in the snow for the past few weeks, kinda bothering me...so i've been looking to trade in for a nice awd car...
and my 1st choice is the new evo X... i'm assuming the evoX is about 50K CAD....while my gti would probably give me about 28K CAD if i sell it when the evox comes to canada.... which is about 22K more to pay if i confirm on this action... so should i trade my gti for the evo? or do any of you guys have any better suggestions? |

DO IT! The Evo X is freakin sweet! If you want AWD, why not go with one of the best? Do it do it do it do it do it....do it.

It's easy for us b/c it's not our money.
I know watcha mean though. In all seriousness, you're getting a car that has four doors, can get to 60 in ~5 secs, has a DCT, advanced yaw controls, and an amazing AWD system that supposedly "eliminates understeer". I also think it looks amazing. The front is ridiculously aggressive...in a good way. The back is...well it's okay. But hell, that thing is destined to have great mod support.

That's actually even more expensive than the Mitsu.

I bet it does. Small displacement + FI = mod heaven most of the time.

I live uphill as well... and every time there is heavy snow on the ground, I just get a little bit of momentum and drive in reverse up the hill to get where i am going. The 60/40 weight dis. will in theory, help the front wheels get traction as it pushes the car in reverse.

the biggest problem is that once i stop at a uphill, i can't get the car to move again...the wheels just keep spinning.... |

Where do you live? North Pole isn't really a populated area with E90s running around .
If its Canada, then yes I would probably invest in a AWD car of some sort. But if spending more $$ by the thousands is unjustifiable to you... then just get chains and some good winter wheels. |

But yeah, if the price is attractive and is not a hard hit, go for it. |
