Eventuri Plenum + Intake + MSS Alpine CF Plenum Tune

Ordered myself the Eventuri system for Black Friday and it took a few months to get here.

Finally got around to Ceramic coating it, then installing it. It is a thing of beauty. I went with the Eventuri one because I like the look of the stock plenum shape vs the others and I wasn't expecting any performance benefit from it.

Pictures of it installed:

Current engine mods:
  • Becker Headers + Catless X-pipe
  • Eisenmann Race
  • MSS Apline Tune

I installed the setup and went for a drive, video below. My initial thoughts were not bad, a decent amount of intake noise, I like it. I did feel a little bit of throttle hesitation and throttle inputs didn't feel as smooth, but it could just be the car needing to adapt more.

I had seen Alex mention that he has a small change for the CF plenums that make the intake noise a bit louder. But I wasn't really expecting to notice much of a difference. After a few days of driving, I decided to request a file and try it out. To my surprise it actually sounded a decent amount louder, I wasn't expecting much at all. But now it just completes the mod and I believe Evolve when they say this setup is better sounding than their E46 M3 CSL. Even with my loud exhaust, you can hear the intake noises under load/full throttle. Driving normally you won't hear much, but that is expected and how intakes work.

Also I feel like the tune cleaned up the throttle response, much more cleaner and crisp now compared to before the tune changes. Overall, I'm very happy with this expensive mostly eye candy and sound upgrade.

It's always hard to capture a difference on video, but here is one after the tune file was loaded:

Bonus video, a lap from my recent Homestead Miami Speedway track day:

Very nice. I have mine waiting at EAS for an install, hopefully next week. I have an Alpine tune and will have to check out the update--glad to hear one's available.

I am just curious, do you know what the tune changes for the "plenum tune" if it is trade secrets disregard.

I don't know the science behind, Tuners are usually pretty secretive about that stuff. But if anyone knows I'd be interested also.

Looks great! I have the matte setup and have planned the same valve covers. The plan is to swap them at some point in the future at the same time as 292 cams.

Awesome, those 292 cams look like a good mod, let us know how it goes once you get them. We need a tuner to offer a good tune for them.

Thank you for posting this, exactly what I was looking for as I have a Eisenmann Race and we as wondering if you'd even be able to hear the plenum with the relatively loud exhaust. I assume the video definitely doesn't do it justice and you can hear a significant difference pre plenum vs plenum+Alex tune?

Yea I thought that also, but you can definitely hear it under load. I think my comments in the OP are the best way I can describe it:

thanks for the feed back.... I'm considering one of these. So many of these cf plenum options now. I am leaning towards Haimus want one that is loud. Knowing that alpine can increase the sounds is pretty helpful as well. What wheels are those on your signature? Love the red, but I am biased

It does sound nice... but if you've ever been in an E46 M3 with the CSL conversion, you'd know that sound shits all over these cf intakes (and its really not even close). Lol

Evolve has an original CSL and in their testing they claimed what I said above, the S65 with the Eventuri sounded better. But everyone can have their own opinion.

Can't say I've heard both so I won't comment.
