ZCP package, stock fronts, 285/30r19 rear? Will I be unhappy?

Yes I understand the car will understeer a bit without throttle input, but should I worry about anything else? Too much sidewall flex, rubbing, etc?

285/30/19s fit beautifully back there. The car will understeer more only if pushing the car hard. I run a 255/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear.

YES you will be very happy with wide tires and big wheels. Get sticky rear tires and you will love this car. The ride will be a little rougher tho. You shouldn't have to worry about rubbing because you can go wider with the tires and run more aggressive offsets than the 359s.

sounds like a good combo...just be clear that you should go with a bigger front to match the bigger rear, at least according to tirerack and bmw specs.

I just order the Pilot Super Sport which are 265/35/zr19/xl

I could not find any size showing 275? or 285? that was recommended for the M3. Could you please post the pics and does it fit on stock ZCP rims.

thanks

The 285 will fit/work great, the same size rear as the GTS wears. I agree with Dave though and recommend 255 fronts.

My car with 255.35.19 and 285.30.19 Invos.

Keep in mind that your DSC will be a tad more sensitive now, there isn't the .5" difference in diamater anymore. The DSC won't let you hang it out as much if it is on. It shuts you down a little earlier. If you turn it off no issues..

Eh, that's really not cool. So rear tires spin 2.2% too fast, and front tires spin 1.1% slow. Which means DSC and even MDM will be very aggressive... I didn't consider this before, thanks. MDM is too aggresive for me as it is..

285/30r19 and 265/30r19 front would make DSC/MDM slightly less aggresive, this may be the way to go.

Anybody know the front tire size on the GTS?

255.35.19's..

You know its not that much of a difference. I barely noticed it..it will still let you get a little sideways, but if you have too much steering input it will cut off throttle.

Some are running 275/295 setup, just the rims are to narrow to fully support the tires of this size.

You can just go to the 285/30 rears and keep the 245/30 fronts. In fact, this will give you exactly the same rolling diameter and shouldn't be as upsetting to the DSC as going to 255/35 front & 285/30 rear. Alternatively, you can go with 255 front and 295/30 rear as well. These will fit just fine on the stock 359 wheels, will give you equal front/rear rolling diameters and will only decrease the rear diameter by 8.5mm. The tires do then start to add weight however.

It seems to me that the M3 really should have come with wider rubber to begin with. Does anyone have any insight into why the stock sizes were chosen? They clearly do not provide enough grip given how much the DSC kicks in.

Yes but it still wouldn't be the .5" in diamater that is specified. The DSC intrusion isn't really that much different than when it was OEM sizes.
