I think you can get a better lease on a year end 2012 (provided you find one you like).

I've seen better leases obtained here by others on this forum, perhaps you like to do some searching.

If you are leasing for your own company I'll say go with the higher monthly payment for the larger yearly write off to your business (provided you can do it, check with your accountant).

If you are leasing as a private individual, my recommendation would be to put more down and lower the payments.

Good luck! I hope you find what you are looking for.

I only leased twice and both times was for business reasons.

Not an expert at leasing so can't speak to the numbers but being from NOLA, I assume I know the dealer he is talking to! Sounds like he is talking about an car from dealer inventory rather than a car he ordered. Being a relatively small market, our dealer usually has one M3 in inventory. At this point I seriously doubt it's a 2012 still sitting around so I would not expect that kind of lease deal...

Thank you for your response. I will be leasing for my business, but I will have to speak to accountant like you said.

Not sure if I will be able to find a 2012 at my local dealership, but I def like that idea!!

Yeah, the car I was quoted was a car I built and I don't think the have any 2012 in stock.

Not sure of the tax situation you have, but something seems off. Putting down $5k still puts your payment well over mine for roughly the same price, money factor, and residual and my upfront was just over $2k.

seems high to me. What is the MSRP on the vehicle - need to know that to see what kind of deal you are getting. I would think you should be closer to $850 with zero down. There is still $1500 factory cash on these cars.

It will properly be to your advantage to check the available inventory in say near by Huston, there are quite a few dealerships.

https://www.google.ca/search?q=bmw+d...&client=safari

Use the Internet and let your fingers do the walking and research. Chances are you get the best deal at a dealer that has the most m3's in his inventory.

I purchased my last M3 using the phone and e-mail. The dealer had 6 M3's in his Inventory. I told them I have my eye on one of there M3's and one at another location. It helped for them to sharpen there pencil and I got a great deal on my purchase.

In the end if you make a good deal, the drive back home will be sweet.

Good luck.

OP, never put down anything such as cap reduction. Instead, max out your MSD (do a search here for MSD, it's been talked about many times before ). You'll thank me later.

For comparison purposes, I just picked up a '13 E92 this January with a MSRP of $74445. My payment is $868/month including CA 9% sales tax, my drive off was $500 out of the pocket.

I opt for 10,000mi/year by the way.

If the other posts are correct, the dealer is basically reducing the price by the $1,500 factory cash amount. Not much of a deal!

dagolfpro is correct, you never want to put cash down on a lease. This is because you won't get that money back if the car is totaled. Think of it like this. You put down $7200 as a capital reduction. That is roughly $200 a month for you 36 month lease and your monthly payment is lowered by that much. You are basically prepaying $200 a month for your lease. Now imagine your car gets totaled four months into your lease. Your insurance company should pay off the remainder of the lease but will not pay you back the $200 you prepaid for the remaining 32 months of your lease. You are just out that money.

Now, the MSD = Multiple Security Deposit is a nice deal. It lowers the MF .00007 for each security deposit you make in advance at lease signing, up to 7 payments. If you make all 7, your MF is lowered by .00049. That does help lower the payment. Also, since these are secuity deposits you get them back at the end of the lease, even if the lease ends early because the car was totaled.

Your getting way ripped off. I calculated it and got $695 a month with the $5000 due at signing. Oh and BTW you should put the maximum of 7 MSD's to bring your MF down
