Differences between different production year models

I am considering buying a used E90 to drive for few years and trying to figure out which year models I should consider. What are the main differences? So far I think
- 2008 had some older navigation system
- 2011.5 had some nav system updates

Any info or pointers would be appreciated.

I would definelty look for an 2009 for two reasons : tail lights and newer CiC iDrive.

Beyond that you can retrofit the updates.

Well thank God SOMEONE stepped up and posted a new thread asking this question again, otherwise we would've had to go a whole week without it being asked.

OP, . You might have found this thread, created a month ago and listed directly under this thread at the time I refreshed my browser: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=826190

You're right, many threads on this but this one is so convoluted and contains so many errors. Not all that concise.

If you read the thread, the info gets clarified, and the OP of that thread says he updated the original post with info he got along the way. But even if that hadn't been the case, it's not realistic to create a new thread on the same topic hoping that somehow THIS thread would net perfect, comprehensive information even though others that asked the same question hadn't. Information is available to those who commit to spending time sorting through it rather than expecting others to spoonfeed them by providing the same info over and over. I even wrote a long post I believe in that thread I linked that has most everything.

Maybe you should go back and read the thread yourself. I was not the OP on this, and not seeking information as you say, just simply making a comment. Relax.

luckily, you can code a 6MT car to operate like a DCT, but modification to the clutch pedal is needed.
