here's for your education purpose: PS: We still talking about stock turbos here, we didn't talk about upgraded 335i turbos. same movie but camera man is the " M " car, look at the kid face, he knows he's gonna get killed by the N54 lul IF I wanted a 3 series, I wouldn't waste money on an ///M I would get a 335is, and spend the money on another car.

That's unfair comparison, cause 335i using meth. We can compare stock m3 vs chipped 335i but no racegas or meth!!! That's how it should be!!!!! i like 335i but an ///M car is totaly different league, believe me. I came from e 46 m3 to 335xi 6sp,and i have to say that i love m3 more cause it's much better car in many aspects(throttle response, look good, and just the feeling of smth special,i'm not telling about great sound)!!!!!!! |

the E46 330 doesn't smoke the "real" (not the nerfed US spec) E36 M3

335's are great cars, but the drive they offer isn't even close. And modified cars versus stock cars don't make much sense. Last edited by Ablahad; 07-04-2011 at 12:12 PM.. |

And I would sincerely hope that a thoroughly modified 335 would beat an M3 in a straight line. By the line of thinking that faster is better, I have a buddy with a 5.0 GT modified that will put any 335 to shame, mods or not. Ford GT wins!

The current 335i with a tune obliterates the M3. With a tune, the e9x M3 won't stand a chance. One thing still stands out...that ///M badge. Whatever BMW puts into the next 335i, it still won't have that ///M. Not that it matters anymore.

What BMW should of done was put in somewhere around the C63's HP numbers to keep the M3 from being embarrassed. 295 lb ft of torque really is sad. My sisters 650i has 360!

Isn't that BMW's claim to fame? A car that you can use day to day but also use at the track? The M3 weights 3700 pounds. That is no way a track toy. What BMW failed to realize is that, it's really not either. They failed to make it a proper daily driver. Then they failed to make it a proper track toy. High rev engines can be tailored to carry more torque.

That makes no sense. Like I said, Mercedes went all out and put a 6.2L V8 under the hood(I like to call it the fist of God.) 295 lb ft of torque is pathetic and anemic. If the car has 430 hp and somewhere around 310 or 320 lb ft of torque. It would of been epic. BMW in general skimped with the e9x gen. Everything was half-assed.

You're not a professional racing driver. Torque just lets you hang the backside out whenever you want. Yes the C63 AMG has a lot of torque, but that can be fixed. All you need is some wider tires.

I understand that the torque curve is linear also, and that power progressively comes on. Mercedes makes almost 85% of torque and HP available at around 2500.
