Greatest forum moments.....
So this forum has been around now for a number of years and over 550 pages. It has served as a vehicle (no pun intended) to bring together a community of enthusiasts. It has provided real information pertinent to the M3, insights into life and the world in which we live, as well as being a source of some great humor. For me, it has become a part of my daily life as well.
It has actually provided my wife and I with some real quality time. We will both sit together in our kitchen, or on our bedroom sofa. I will be on this site and she will be reading a book or doing word puzzles that she loves. We often share some coffee or some wine, and discuss work, life, kids, etc. Anyway, I thought it would be great if people could recall some of their most memorable forum moments. It could be a great thread, some great information, a great M3 pic...whatever. For me, this one thread sticks in my mind..... A while back a young guy in college was on the forum talking about the M3 his parents had bought him. He was trying to justify this by the fact that he worked really hard in a top name school, got very good grades, and as such, felt he deserved his M3. He felt he really appreciated what he had. I responded by telling him to go into a BMW dealership, tell them about how hard he works, and how good his grades are, and ask them to give him an M3 for this. His response.....well, there was none. Priceless. Please share some of your most memorable M3POST moments !!!

my most memorable thread is IND's Martin D thread, that was the car that made me go out and buy my m3, i fell in love it with first sight, and even till this day, its still my inspiration to my own m3 build.

A team, Tibra, JetFalcon.
I second all of the above. Also, any thread where the OP proclaims to drive manual well, but then whimpers for DCT because they struggle to drive their car in traffic.

I think my favorite was "jeans" thread where everyone chimed in about what type of jeans they wore and whether it put ware on the seats. Somehow it was simultaneously a new low and new high.

I like the idea, OP. I've been a part of this forum for almost 4 years. A few threads come to mind.
1.) The infamous valet story - an M3post member had his car stolen at a Las Vegas hotel from the valet, and found it in a ditch later that day. 2.) M3post member in Florida who passed away. I hesitate to bring this up, but it was a sobering moment for all of us, and reminded us all of the caution we must employ when we drive our vehicles. RIP 3.) The M3post member who chased after a speeding M3 in his hearse (SchnellM3?). I have not laughed that hard in years. See post #5. (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=640191) 4.) All of the "is this a normal sound" threads. For example, the fellow who asked why his engine makes a loud revving sound when it changes down a gear. 5.) A shameless plug about my own little event, which was hilarious in its own way. (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=560095) |
