Factory headers are 40mm primary diameter and 54.5mm collector. Aftermarket headers are available in 42mm and 44mm primaries, and not sure the collector size.

I actually got to see our S65 engine out this week on another M. The header set up is definitely very well designed from factory and beautiful at that. This was a completely stock engine and noticed on the headers a bluish tint to the piping. Thought it was rather interesting.

I was very impressed none the less and know why it's been hard for the best exhaust manufacturers to get better performance out of them. Possible ceramic coating on the stock ones or doing this on a high SC engine could be an option.
