New member saying hello
Hey everyone,
I've been lurking on here for a few weeks. It's a great community of enthusiasts. I currently drive a saab 92-x(wrx mutation) and a g35 6mt coupe. I had a ride in my friends 328xi the a month ago and I was sold. My next car WILL be a 3 series. Ive read through so many posts and I'm as indecisive as ever. Color?, 335 or 328, packages? I know the pros and cons of all of them and I've sat down with a dealer twice, only to get up and leave because I couldnt make a decision and they were closing. After driving and comparing, I still have no idea. My two top picks so far are either: 328i, 6mt, sport package, xenons, comfort access (dealer quoted me 34,500) or 335i, 6mt, no options ( dealer quoted me 38,500) The price diff is no object to me. My only preference was to keep it under 40k. (And I know that with the 335 i get add'l options) I think either of these I would get in Sparkling Graphite or Montego Blue. Im not asking you guys to give me pros and cons between them, because Ive searched and read through a lot of posts with a very similar topic. I just wanted to introduce myself and ... my dilemma(should i even call it that). And it is my firm belief that threads are worthless without pics so here goes. |

Welcome!
And I say go with the 335i too! Even if you don't have any features on it, you will not be disappointed. The power is rediculous. And if you add any tuner to it, it will turn into a BEAST!!! Good luck with your decision.

Welcome to e90post.com, the web's premier e9x community
I agree with the others, ante up to the 335i but add ZSP (sport package). BMW provides a whole menu of options/color/trims to choose from. Take advatange by ordering one to your exact liking . The wait (average 6-8 weeks) is a rite of passage for many here in this community. Also do look into the European Delivery and/or Performance Center Delivery options, might help you save even more.

Get the 335! You wont regret it. I would recommend getting the sports package though. In my opinion, the car is not the same without it.

Thanks for all the warm welcome and recommendations.
I know that the 335 will provide me ultimate driving experience. But I also think that the 328i will offer up to 85% or more of that experience. I will probably tap into that last 15% only 1% or less of the time. Sorry for the overload of percentages. I'm simply most impressed with the balance and solidity of the car. I've been driving a Stg 2 wrx for so long I forgot what luxury feels like. Extra power is nice, but not necessary. Or is it? But like I mentioned, I am so indecisive. I can't make my mind up on anything it seems. But then I think maybe down the road I'll want it and it will be more cash than if I had just decided to get the 335 in the first place. I thought about the Sport package on the 335i, but I figured that it comes with 17s stock so the perf would balance out. (I don't really like the look of 16 inchers on the 3). I also don't want the perf. summer tires since I live in NY. But I do want the sport seats that all of you rave about. I guess Ill just think about it more. All I know is it will be a 6mt e9x (ive started to consider the coupe as well... oh no... more options) |

+1 OP have you considered Euro delivery? Saves you some $$$ at the very least you get a "free" trip. and you can probably tack on one addition option.

Welcome!
And, definitely, get the 335i. With ~$5,000 you can have 380-HP and great rims/tires to go with it. Have fun. |
