I get about 19-21mpg on city. I drive aggressive though. But I probably could definitely improve it if I wanted to by time

I think the reason people are getting such bad mileage numbers is because they are forgeting to reset the MPG display when they fill up. It only gives average fuel economy. So, if you haven't reset it in awhile you will not be seeing good numbers.

How do you reset the mpg gauage? I've been reseting my trip computer every fill up, are we suppose to hold down the same button when the mpg screen is on?

To reset the mpg gauge, hold down the OBC stalk button for 2 secs or more when the mpg screen is on.
Same applies for average speed.

Typically my BMW cars have delivered better real world highway fuel mileage than that recorded in the EPA cycle. The cycle used by EPA is sadly out of date.
Some manufacturers tune and gear their vehicles to the cycle, while others, BMW included base their gearing and tuning decisions on the real world. From all that I have heard, the Toyota Prius' (sp?) real world hwy mileage is considerably less than that recorded in the EPA test. |
