Just Got home with Her!

First of all, thanks for all who posted on my previous thread regarding current pricing. I just picked up a beautiful white E92 and I just have to say, "wow!!!" Coming from a 335, there are some major differences from the start.

First off, I've already put on some 120 miles tonight, so it gave me a chance to notice a few things

1. the brakes on the M3 are not quite as jerky or sensitive as the 3
2. a strange noise I continue to hear when I hit the clutch - almost sounds like a recoiling noise that I never got on the 3
3. the V8 is definitely a "hey, look at me" type roar, the 3 is more subtle

No pictures yet, as I just got home from a long day at the dealer and just returned home. Going to clean her up tomorrow morning and snap up some pictures. Again, thanks all!!!!

Congrats!

If you had an E93 335, why not E93 M3? Not that there's anything wrong with that because in my book, E92 > E93. Anyhow, good choice! I assume you went with the CF roof?

The gear ratios are identical, so I must assume the tranmission is the same unit, but beefed up for extra cooling. The clutch design must be different though.

Huh? Can an E92 drop the top into the trunk in 22 seconds and back up again in 23 seconds

Huh what? What part of "in my book" didn't you understand? I'm just saying that it's better in my book because I track my cars, and an E92 will lap faster around a track since it's lighter, with a lower center of gravity, more rigid, with ultimately better handling. Yeah, the CF roof won't retract in 22 seconds but neither can Jessica Alba's ass and I'd take that over anything.

Here she is! I dedicated a lot of my time today just researching my mods and did a little bit of driving. Went out and visited friends in Sacramento and drove right back down...I guess I was looking for a reason to hurry up and hit the 1200 mark. Here are some questions for some of you local guys:

1. tint - what looks good for white?
2. clearbra - where and how much of the plastic are you putting on
3. is there a titanium exhaust made for the car
4. for those who went with H&R springs, how would you rate it with the EDC?

Thanks!!!

Just from info already in the forums:

1. As dark as is legal. (my opinion)

2. Full hood, bumper and fenders is what most M3 owners are doing.

3. Yes, but maybe not quite yet available. Do a search but be ready to spend some $$$. They're not cheap. That's why I've never went with Ti. BTW, other than weight savings (and looking better since they don't hang down like BMW mufflers do) I doubt you will see much of a performance improvement. Everyone says that BMW did a good job with the exhaust and there's not much room for improvement in the performance area here.

4. Can't answer. It lowers the car, and from the pics I've seen, it doesn't look all that great. But that's just pictures. I have yet to see any IRL. Nobody has yet commented substantively on ride/handling. At least I have read anything about it.

Some seem to think that a full coilover that retains the EDC function will be forthcoming. I'm not sure and wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

Good luck.

What are you talking about? He said it was an opinion. To each his own. And, as an E93 M3 owner, I can tell you it's actually 22 seconds both ways, not 22-down / 23-up. I've timed it
