Secondary Cat delete only?

Has anybody done just a secondary cat delete? I've seen a few videos with resonator deletes, but none with just a cat delete. I'm sure there won't be much HP gain if any, but what does it do the sound?

Fabspeed X-pipe. I would like to actually hear it under load, as revving in neutral is not always indicative of exhaust tone.

i'm running 3" tubing off the primary cats with an H-pipe on the center section. no sound clips right now, but i'll get some this weekend when it dries out a little. we've had heavy rain all week. it sounds great though, good bang for the buck.

You might as well replace everything. If a primary cat goes (it was common on the E46), you're looking at:

18307840684 $3,615.29 MSRP $2,892.23 wholesale
Exhaust system - Catalytic converter
Catalytic converter, m series 2008

BMW is not going to give you a new one (P/N 18307840684) if you have hacked it up, and since it's all one piece, if a cat dies, you are buying a whole new mid-section to the tune of about 3K.

You might as well replace the entire center section and add software.

Because if at some point you plan to sell the car without spending some time making license plates....you are kinda going to need the original emission control system on it - no?

The no was directed at the strange comment about buying a new OEM system. I'm confused to why one might have to do this, and why it would have any impact on selling the car?
