Recent Powder Coating in Atlanta?
Hey guys,
Has anyone recently had a set of wheels powder coated in the Atlanta area? A search brought up places like Metro Wheels and Miller's Powder Coating, but those threads were a few years old. I'm looking to get a set of 220m's powdercoated to a textured gunmetal color. Also, a place that offers mounting/unmounting and loaner wheels would be great! They are my only set of wheels and it is my only vehicle. Thanks for any info! Vince |

check out mike the powdercoater. I haven't personally had anything done by him, but I have heard only good things from friends who have.

Thanks, seems like with Mike I would have to have my wheels unmounted already. I'd really prefer to have the tire and wheels mounting included in case they mess the finish up in the process.

I gave mine to Top Speed Motorsports and they sent it out to have it done, not sure who exactly. Give em a call I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Took about 3 days from when I gave them the wheels to when they were installed on the car. Here's the number: (678) 297-7770 I've heard good things about Mike as well, but I've never used him.

most places will not unmount and mount. Millers want them unmonted. I would contact a shop. most wont supply wheels. Car will be down for a bit.

Miller's seems to be a popular choice. What's everyone's take on powder coat decreasing strength of wheels? Seems that some guys that track their cars really do not recommend powder coating wheels and prefer to paint.

I've read that is actually the baking process and the high temperatures that the wheel is exposed to. Depending on the quality of the wheel, this could weaken the wheel over time, especially if the wheels are tracked.
