Any Of You Have Leased Cars With Mods To It?

just wondering how it works. Is it against dealer policy. Any of you do it? Will they still perform service on car?

depends on the mods. dealers might deny you warranty related to a certain part. for instance if you have a chip they might not warranty your engine, but your brakes are obviously still under warranty.

*some* (more like all) dishonest dealers try to pull shit on you to make you pay like denying your transmission warranty because you have after market wheels and shit like that (seen it happen)

usually all mods or most at least are reversible. i try to avoid certain mods like would put a SC or TT on the engine for instance, im not a fan of aftermarket exhaust, but i'd do all cosmetic stuff.

will they perform service? again depends on what the mod is. for instance if u drop your car on springs they might not warranty your shocks/springs any more.

what kind of mods are you thinking?

The problem with mods on a lease car is when you try to turn it back to BMW or your leasing agency. Mods can mean a big loss of value at time of return.

I got wheels, black grills, Blacklines, and engine mods and I've had no problems so far, I take the engine mods off for oil changes and stuff like that.

as long as the mods do not bring the value of the car down you should be fine. but then again all mods are reversible, and you should take them out and get some cash for them by selling them to people. dont return them with the car

When you lease a car does it really feel like its yours or more like a rental? Seems like it'd feel like the latter.

i leased a car that i wanted to keep for 1 year max. i never modded it, not even tint. i modded my 335 thinking i'd keep it for 3 years, only kept it for 4.5 months. M3 doesnt need much modding. maybe some cosmetic.
