Better put em through school. Otherwise, who's going to support you when you're old and broke after spending all your money on cars?

Does the UK even have a GI bill? I know Canada has something similar.

My middle son worked his ass off and got a full-ride to Vanderbuilt (good for him and us). Now he wants to go to medical school (they give no scholarships for that), so I"m going to pay for the tuition so he won't be saddled with 6-figures worth of debt when he gets out and works 120hrs/wk as a Resident for minimal wage for 5 years and gets his first "real"-paying job at age 30.....That's my gift to him, who is working his bright little ass off to make a better way for himself. That's just what a parent does, if they have the means. On a lighter note, with his future more secure now, I can go out and spend his inheritance on that Modena I've been eyeing!

Despite my intense desire for certain cars, she'll always be my first priority. That's the responsibility I took upon myself when she came into my life. And I'm very happy to put her needs & requirements in front of the things that I'm after. (And when she's all happy and taken care of, I'll then go after that Ferrari that I've always wanted LOL ) |

Don't do it. Your M3 is faster, strip and track!
Well, I understand the point. What a sounds and driving experience. I can't wait to hear some high quality videos of the racier 458.

The thing with Ferrari's are that once you have one, its cool for the first three months, then you end up wondering it its worth the money. Trust me I have had a Challenge Stradale for 18 months. I traded my Porsche GT2 in for it, paid in around $157k, and regret it still to this day!!
Italian trash IMO, the M3 DCT is the best money for your buck, and now that I have Akrapovic, Brembo, HRE and KWV3 mods, its about the best car Ive had period!! I have the money to buy another Ferrari, but its not worth the $$$ You are lucky you can afford an M3, enjoy it and know you have made the right choice!! This is a pic of my Ferris CS, nice to look at, but not nice for the $360k it costs in SA. For perspective, a new M3 DCT costs $121k fully loaded. We have high import duties at 60% |

I always thought of them as the 'ultimate driving machine'... until I learned about cars. For starters, I don't like how they sound. And contrary to popular belief, V8s started life in the 19th century with a flat-plane crank, and continued for centuries, until technology allowed manufacturing of the cross-plane crank in the 1940s. And before the 430, they use timing BELTS, which require replacement every 3 years or 15K miles; RIDICULOUS. And to add insult to injury, you have to pay tens of thousands of dollars over their true value due to demand. I could buy one now if I wanted to, but I have no desire, even if I hit the jackpot. Even cars with less than 10K miles have plastic window switches peeling off, and excessive wear not even expected on a Kia. Ferrari ownership is strictly an ego-driven decision IMO. Just like you, I don't need anything more than an M3. Heck, I even regretted spending the money on my M3, but at least I have the best driving machine money can buy IMO. Yeah, you can spend a ton more money on a car, but you wouldn't get your money's worth, at least from the driving perspective. Good day gang. |

lol some funny posts (you all knew I was joking right? Like I would choose any car over my sons/wife's well being).
Saving up to fill that third garage but it wont be a Fezza, something light, fast and trackable. Have to save up though, dont do credit.

However, was the CS not soul-stirring and exhilirating every time you drove it? Didn't you expect to hear every rock your tires kicked up against your undercarriage? I'll trade hearing every pebble for the ability to feel every pebble under my tires And the exhaust note is glorious IMHO on those CS's, after having heard a couple, both stock and Tubi. I ask because I've always had that dream of owning an F-car one day for sheer love of the car, it's always been one of those dreams of mine when I am ready to take the financial hit. Pose factor, depreciation, dealership BS notwithstanding, at the end of the day, I foresee myself sneaking into the garage at all hours of the night just to stare at my baby, kind of like I do with my E92 now I've heard the comment "it's a stupid decision, but every car nut must own a Ferrari once" far more often than your complete regret, which is why I'm intrigued. Perhaps my (and several other members here, it looks like) dream is more fantasy than reality? Quote:
Anyway just to put things in perspective, if I was ten years ahead in my career I would be daily driving a 997.1 GT3, if I was twenty years ahead I'd be daily driving that same GT3 but with a Scud or a 997.2 GT3RS in the garage; those are my idea of the ultimate driving machines in the current market; in fact the E92 as a daily driver and a 997.2GT3RS in the garage would be a pretty nice proposition too

Having said that, plenty of diamond mines need small workers. I think this comes as close to true car porn as it gets for me...
