2010 M3 Edition discount
Hey guys,
This is my first time negotiating a deal on a M3 Edition, Brilliant White and I was able to negotiate a $4,700 off MSRP ($96,000). Does this sound like a good discount to you? I haven't signed anything yet, but will be going in today to check out the car? Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks,

I think you can push them for more. I got 9k(USD) off MSRP on my 2009, purchased in mid 2009. Since the 2011's are already being talked about, and some minor changes are planned, I would think you could get more out of them.
Hope it works out for you... |

96K??? Is it individual? What model? Is that Out the door price after tax? If not, i would have to say you are about to get screwed!! Check Invoice pricing, even fully loaded, you could get a better deal, spend less money, and take European Delivery through one of the online sales guys on the board. Maybe I am wrong, but 96 seems like a crazy high MSRP if that is before tax.

Thats correct it is an edition model and it is $96,000 MSRP. And I am also in Canada. So the prices aren't the same as in the US.

Lee, I don't know much about this, but can you purchase the vehicle in the U.S.? I was able to deduct $9k+ off my window sticker.
oh by the way, having different BMW dealers competing for your business is key. Also, do your homework and try not to low ball them, yet understand what is possible and what is not then go on from there. Don't be afraid to walk out, do your homework by calling around and you will have the confidence to walk out if the situation is against you. If you have an iphone or ipod touch, download a financial calculator app and plug in the numbers in front of them; there is a purchase/lease app out there. They will see that you mean business and your hard earned money isn't a joke. Good luck! Last edited by PrePharm; 02-15-2010 at 04:08 PM.. |

Check that, makes more sense now. If I were you I would try to get ahold of invoice pricing for canada and then negotiate up from there. What features are included that aren't on the US model?

Go with your heart. It's an Edition model which is almost a 10k CDN option here in Canada. And it's unique. Something just us and the rest of the world can get, none went to the U.S. I truly wish our friends on the other side of the border would realize just how much we have to pay over here and quit the razzing about high prices....as if we don't feel bad enough. For instance, our base, base, base M3 coupe STARTS at more than $72,000 CDN including Ft/PDI and those lovely cloth seats. You'll need a math degree to add the rest of the options up!!!
Back to your point....I think there were enough Editions sent to Canada that your dealer can't plead "it's the only one". Negotiate as per what you'd pay for a normal M3 and except for the extra cost of the Edition package, you'll get a very individualized car that'll stand out. Just my .02. |

I would just but an M3 in the US and import it into Canada. Even if you pay the 6% duty you still come out WAY ahead. Even though the prices on the M3 are much higher in Canada, the base MSRP didnt change from the E46 like the big increase the E92 got in the US

I actually misunderstood what my sales guy said, its actually an Alpine White and not Brilliant White. If it was, I would've picked up the car already =)

I was thinking of trying to make a deal on a 2010 floor/in stock M3 (E93) but if I am were to sell it 4-5 years down the road I think I would rather be selling a 2011 unless there is at least 10K or more. The loaded M3 with the exception of extended leather is 95,000 plus tax and guzzler. That would net out at 102,500 after 13% tax and a 5% discount. I have no idea what the Edition config is but I assume it has extended leather and that would put my estimate right on yours... Any insight? |
