Go drive the GT-R first. I have owned both, I would rather drive an the M3 any day. IMO the GT-R is soleless and not much fun to drive. I am also a 6MT guy so it may just be me.

I do agree though an M3 should be an M3!

Good point. It's like the MGM Grand in Vegas demolishing and changing their entire strip side entrance shortly after opening because Chinese high rollers wouldn't go play because it was considered unlucky.

I do believe sedan and coupe are almost identical when it comes to performance. Sedan are only about 20lbs heavier, but it does have shorter overhang. So i dont think M3 as a sedan would be far from what a coupe would be, so were not really loosing here.

I for one would not buy a coupe. 1being I have 3 kids and a wife. The other theres really none out there that in the sedan category that can compete with it. But as far as coupe, theres plenty of competition, and hate to say it some are far better car than a m3.

That said I dont care if they call it 320sport as long it make me tingly inside when I drive it ill buy it.

I don't think having a FI M3 is a bad idea. Don't get me wrong, I love my S65 but I hate my tuned 335 buddies always kicking my ass because my NA engine looses so much power up here at altitude (Denver).

if they make a sedan for the new model run i will have to have both and do a comparison of the FI vs NA every day. will put my porsche dreams on hold probably though.

Psst!
A4 (LWB, as it happens) is the best selling luxury car in China.

Not me. I don't personally care about the name, but a turbo sports car is a deal breaker for me now and in 10 years. I MUCH prefer less power with a NA V8 (or NA F6) than 50% more with a turbo engine. Having more than 400 HP on a street car is just crazy to me. Give me a better power to weight ratio, and better efficiency over HP; much more rewarding to drive than a 500HP pig with the range of a motorcycle.

Not so sure about that. I've been to Beijing and Shanghai many times and have seen tons of A6's but few A4's. The number 4 is a homophone for "death" in Chinese in any event.

I think it would be pretty cool if they rename the upcoming BMW M3 the BMW Death. Maybe throw in a Rammstein anthology installed on the hard drive.

Good call. I was wrong actually. It is the A6L that is number one.

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/05/18/c...n-luxury-cars/

However, as you can see, the A4L is in second place.

Audi doesn't give a rats ass about that, and neither will BMW.

They would sell more A4s but I heard that an unusually large number of customers die on the way to the dealer.

4 doors should equal M4. Leave the M3 coupe name alone. Of course, what the hell do I care? I'll never buy another one unless they put a v-10 into it.

^^ This

For current M3 coupe/vert owners, there may be a silver lining in the M4 moniker cloud. As soon as the badge thieves wise up that the M4 badge is the hawt commodity, those of us with and E92M3 may not have too much to worry about with the ///M3 badges on the cars.

Then all BMW would need to do is change the M4 to something else with each successive generation to keep the badge thieves off balance.

Agree to both completely.
I wish they'd just come out with a CSL line line MB and Audi have with the Black Series and RS line. BMW is diluting the //M way too much now.
