Not sure where the rumor started but Ti systems in cold climates is not a problem. The high heat cycles causes cracking. With the quality and testing by Akrapovic I would not worry about cracking.

The only thing to be concerned about is cracks due to impact . Steel bends, Ti cracks so going over speed bumps and other bumps or big rocks that can impact your exhaust is what you need to be cautious of moreso with a Ti system.
I dont know about track use... Cant say Ive seen any Ti systems for people that track their cars often .
