Mirror mis-alignment

I tried searching and came up empty. Has anyone had this issue before, and if so, how do you fix it? The detent that locks the mirror in position locks it in mis-aligned.

Mine is like this too. Curious if this is a bug or a feature.

Me too. Driver's side is a little off while the passenger side is perfect. Annoying.

I think this is a feature, sometimes we have to remember this car has some little faults with it, its not a $1,000,000 bugatti so its not perfect by any means!

Mine came like that too. The dealer tried to adjust it and it is a bit better but still off.

Not what I was hoping to hear. The mirrors on my 1M were perfect.

I don't accept +/-.250" tolerances on a car that cost $70k+ when new.

Mine is the same...drivers side only. I actually work for the company that manufactures these mirrors. It bothered me at first so I was simply going to replace it...but they come from our European facility and they are only serviced now which makes it harder for me to get. I have just learned to deal with it.

I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust this back into position. maybe by clocking the motor in the housing to compensate for the misalignment. Anyone try something like this?

There has to be a way to fix this manually, without buying a whole new mirrow. My driver's side is off probably a bit more than the one pictured above. I have searched on line many times to find a way to fix it myself, after the dealer wouldn't do it even under the extended warranty. So far I couldn't find anything that works.

Many people have sucessfully corrected this problem by pushing the mirror towards the window manually and then engaging the fold mirrors button. However this didn't work for me and I have tried it at least 20 times.

I am still hopeful there is a way to correct it myself.

Mine are the same. Driver misalignment is more than passenger. Bugs me a lot and the dealer says that it's ok. WTF

Not really. No one knows how to fix it yet, hence no DIY.

Mirror Re-Alignment Procedure:
  • Push folding mirror away from you all the way. As in push mirror toward front of car, do not fold in.
  • Push mirror folding button on drivers door.
  • Mirror will fold all the way inward, bind and then "pop".
  • Press mirror button once more to unfold mirror.
  • Mirror should be realigned.

Push the mirror towards the hood? Just to be clear is all before I start man handling my mirrors, lol

And the gold F'n star of the day goes to....

That totally worked. Thank you! That was bugging the hell out of me.

Now it can go to DIY. All the other instructions just said to fold it in. You were the first one to say push it forward and that was the ticket. Awesome man!

It was bugging me so bad I was looking at the RKP racing mirrors. Stopped in my tracks at the price though......
