BMW NA CALLED ME TODAY (Because of an E90Post-Post)
I received a call from BMW NA today beacause of my "Service Engine Soon" post. YIKES !
I guess BMW really DOES read these boards. The woman whom left the message must have done some pretty extensive research/detective work. Not that I mind but... how did she find my number ?? Joseph

I've been complaining about how bad my dealer has been for the last 6 months......on here.
and no one has called me........I even wrote to them...... we're like the little fish in a big pond....they don't care about us....

Well, she left a name and number... I just called the number and got her voice mail... I guess it is not a fake. Or this "Service Engine Soon" light problem has deeper significance than I thought. They seemed VERY nervous about it at BMW Manhattan.

there's no doubt bmw na reads the various bmw boards (on some, they actually have a profile and respond to threads once in a great while), but i would think it'd be kind of difficult to figure out who exactly you are and to know your phone number. weird...

That's creepy...
but I'm sure she could do a search for all metallic black 330i's that have the options in your sig, with March build-dates, in the NYC area, that went in for service on April 24th, and had the following services performed: "Leak Diagnostic Pump Removing and installing or replacing fuel lever sender for fuel gauge Removing and installing or replacing fuel tank leakage diagnosis module Fuel sending unit OK. Replace DMTL pump, clear fault, run system test 2 times, no leak in system" Could it happen? |

I believe today, large corporations depending its success on customer service will have a more proactive and positive attitude and exceeding customer expectation is often their prime goals. I believe your case.

Would the BMW assist send the msg to the BMW center when the problem was detected? I remember my brother's Merc. door opened in the parking lot, and BMW on-star rep. called his phone to let him know.

TO ALL THE DOUBTERS, read this post and thread - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...592#post267592
And yes, this isn't the first time that BMW NA has contacted a member here because of a post he/she posted here. Let's try to give other members the benefit of the doubt here, especially if there's no particular reason to doubt the person (i.e. the member has no history of BS'ing).

BMW NA treats dealers as independent owners. BMW NA sells the cars to the dealers, and problems with a dealership are not their issues. Problems with the cars are. I've owned serval BMW's and have run into some of the same problems when I had dealership issues. BMW NA expects the dealers to resolve them. In talking with my SA, he too told me that both the dealership and BMW monitor the boards. They find them very helpful to research and monitor problems.

I believe they do read our board. However, make sure that phone call is not a fraud.. like dont drop car off without having some paperwork.
