Longboarder vs Supercharged M3's

I attended the OmegaMotorsports NoFlyZone III Airstrip Roll-On event this weekend (November 23, 2013) at the Ft. Shafter (Bakersfield) Airstrip.

I brought my P-car which I recent picked up. It dyno'd at 501 AWHP stock on a Mustang dyno and I added an IPD plenum (adds some mid-range but no top end power) and a GIAC/ChampionMS tune. I estimate it makes around 550+ to the wheels on a mustang which is maybe 600 on a dynojet.

Here's my runs against the supercharged e92 M3's at the event:

And here's the full compilation of all my runs:

Stop running against ///M3's man...you are making fools of us....
Now serious,i know that the P Turbo S is a very fast car and with your mods it must be more than a beast and that power on all wheel drive gives a big traction advantage !
Anyway THX for sharing the nice video's man

Good seeing you out there, your Porsche was logging in some very fast and consistent times! I have one for you at 161.82 towards midday.

Didn't even plan on running that day, but managed to get a 156.38 on our VT2-625 M3 before the sun went down.

With some effort on setup, 160s are definitely in the future.

shit, I had no idea stock turbo 997's were that fast. I was hoping that I'd be able to keep up with them at least with a supercharger setup

good stuff though.

Hey Tom, nice seeing you out there. I think the 161.82 was actually me during my run against Adam late in the day. He ran 157.34. I remember since a friend took a pic of the trap speeds. Of course I'm not trying to take away from Adam's car's stellar performance, just trying to keep the record straight on what 4-door grocery-getting sedans are capable of.

Possibly, I might have got the Porsches mixed up. I got some videos as well, I'll check again.

Your E63 is no joke out there, definitely a sleeper.

It took a built m3 with almost a bar of boost to beat you out of all the other M3s anyways. But man your 997 is a beautiful beast for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Boss

Honestly surprised it worked those m3s so hard.

Goes to show that total power under the curve means more than just peak power. Since most of those m3s are not making much less whp than you. But your overall power curve is much more robust

Beast car, love it.

How would a 550 kit on a dct compare to a stock 997.1 tt? Would you need a 585+ to handle it?

My old 997.1 MT was really fast but the 997.2 pdk cars are nuts

Yeah it makes so much mid range torque that it just launches forward @ over 1.0 G forces. I measured 1.2Gs once on Saturday.

Yes it was Drew. I think he was going stealth mode with his stock wheels and 200 cel cats.

Figures you would save your 162mph run against me! Which by the way was 3mph faster than the Aventador.

Good question.

I think there is a big difference with the 2011's that got the 3.8 litre DI motors. The turbos are the 61mm VTGs (variable turbine geometry) and flow really well. In fact the shop that tuned my car (Champion Motorsports/GIAC) tested them at over 700 wheel already. I don't think the pre-2011 3.6s can come anywhere near these power levels.

I don't think a 550 kit with DCT could handle a stock 997.1 except when really cold outside from a 40+ roll.

I've only ran one modded one with my M3. It was a 2007 997.1 Turbo. It had upgraded turbos from a Porsche GT2, upgraded exhaust, intercoolers and GIAC tune and was a 5speed automatic. I put 2 car lengths on it at the first NoFlyZone event last March. My M3 was dailed in and was running really well back then and was dyno'ing consistent 570 RWHP before I tried the lame Snow Performance water/meth system. I don't think the M3's at this event (except Drews) could have kept up with mine.

Great videos, thanks for sharing. I also had no idea the 997.2 was so fast. I mean I knew it was fast, but seeing it drop these S/C'd M3s put it into perspective. Amazing!
