A new addition...

It's been several years, and several cars since I've last owned an S2000. However, it's always a car I've wanted to own again. A few weeks ago, I came across an S2000 in the combination I've forever wanted; Grand Prix White/Tan.

This particular car is a 2003; in S2000 talk, that means the last year of the 'AP1', with the 9k redline. The car has 20,000 miles on it, and was previously loved by the original owner who left it flawless.

The car is essentially new, and came with all service records, manuals, keys, sticker, and accessories. Over the course of the last week, I spent about ~13 hours perfecting the paint and detailing the interior. The combination of the prior owners care, and my OCD - made this car look like it never left the showroom. I have a local body shop painting and installing a Gears front lip within the next month, and touching up a small scuff, and paint 'burn' mark I wasn't able to remedy satisfactorily myself. Otherwise, with the exception of a mostly full clear bra wrap (similar to my M3) Mugen exhaust and some BBS LM's, I will leave this car stock.

As a companion to my M3, I couldn't ask for better. It's been a blast to reconnect with a love affair from many years ago. God willing, the M and the S are two 'forever cars' to which I'll be able to continue adding others.

Here's some photos:

I had an '03 AP1 that I sold a few years ago. I look at prices every now and then, and the value of those cars have not changed at all. I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of that car.

You're on the mark with that comment... They certainly aren't 'cheap used cars'. For reference, I paid $3k short of what I paid for my brand new 2007 Grand Prix White/Red S2000 in 2007, for this 2003. Like I said though, It's the one I've always been looking for, so I'm ok with it.

Thanks for the compliments. It's an 03. 1 owner, 20,000 mile example. Essentially a flawless example. I have it at the body shop as we speak having a few small issues being remedied as well as a Gears front lip painted and installed. Eventually, will do wheels and call it a day.

Experienced the dreaded AP1 spin the other night. Ugh. How quickly I forget having had cars with electronic nannies since my last AP1 in 2005.

Is yours Sebring, or Silverstone? Regardless, enjoying the rarity of the full-red interior! Finally, is that a Comptech exhaust I see?

I just want to know how you managed to park it behind that pillar. I pictured a sideways handbrake power slide.

It looks like a great space for an OCD detailers paradise, you can spread out, open all the doors, and have plenty of room to not knock anything. I'm envious!

Hey thanks!

Mine is Sebring Silver with all red interior. The S2K always has been my unicorn car ever since when I was in middle school so I finally pulled the trigger back in last year September. It had 88K miles on it with one owner it was in good condition but not perfect so I hd to spend a few days to make it better. I paid 10.5K for it so I am not complaining much about it haha. It has Tanabe Medalion Touring catback exhaust with Berk HFC and some other mods including Fortune Auto coilovers. If I can find another great example of clean S2K just like yours, I will replace it and keep it forever!

Beautiful S, my friend. I have fond memories of my 2002 Sebring Silver/Black S2000. It was the first car I bought for myself out of college in 2005. The all-red interior of yours makes it a rare bird. Enjoy in good health, and keep the shiny side up!
